How about a Workshop whitelist for the people with limited bandwidth and/or speed or any other reason? Even when you disable the main Workshop setting, you still see the items and player models you’ve explicit whitelisted. There is such a thing for canvas already. (optional idea: lock content settings with a password for kids?)

So the Devstream earlier (08/31/18) showed off a lot about the workshop and how downloading models worked and whatnot. But it was also shown that you can block specific playermodels/players’ playermodels. With this, if you wanted to avoid having to download EVERYONE’S playermodels, you’d either have to entirely disable workshop, or just block each person’s playermodel individually.

I usually have workshop models turned off because people use dumb models, but it would be nice to allow models for friends, who I know wouldn’t use models like that. Or maybe a whitelist that I can put people onto?
So IDK if it’s been suggested or not, but an option to not automatically download other players workshop avatars hile in plaza or in a game would be nice, as having to deal with mass workshop avatars being downloaded on heavily busy servers can bog some peoples net down rather hard. especially if they have speeds like 3mb down 268kb up like i do

A workshop WHITELIST would at least address these complaints until a proper solution can be hammered out.
We can already blacklist workshop models, so this is logically inconsistent. As
