Iām not 100% sure what is happening with the drama, All the points and conflict is overwhelming for me and Iām sorry I canāt keep up. But I just wanted to share my opinion.

I loved GMod Tower from the start. Oh jeez, my fanboy is showing sorry.
Iāll be honest, I have one side of me saying, "Perserve GMod Tower!". I sometimes be that kind of GMT fanboy (sorry), because It hurts seeing wonderful creations seeing deformed into something you donāt recognize.
But I feel like me being too attached to GMod Tower is unhealthy for me and maybe the devs too.

The other side of me wants to just see GMod Tower be released from chains. Let it be released out into the public world and out of the ownerās hands. so owner can worry less. Although I might see people may mess around something you loved, Itās fine for me since I will always remember the good times I had with GMod Tower and Iāve already said my goodbyes. So Iām not really concerned what GMod Tower becomes if It releases.

Thereās my thoughts, not really reached a absolute decision. I just hope the fighting and the drama doesnāt escalate more because It hurts me seeing a war over something that opposed to bring people together.

As someone who played a lot of GMT, I would much prefer they just shut down people who steal their shit then to release all their files and make GMT some generic GMOD game mode. They took it off for a reason. Donāt throw away years of hard work to make it some public asset they donāt want to worry about.

Sure is funny how you are just posting a screenshot of Blasphemous being an admin on GMTC without posting anything he actually said. Itās almost as if youāre making him look like a bad person when he didnāt do anything.

Eyyy, itās me! Iām not against you by the way. Everyone is entitled to opinions, but this forum shouldnāt be a place where people are lashing out at each other, for any reason. Iāve never understood how yelling or name calling is a more effective way of communicating with another person over simply staying calm and talking things out.

Itās theirs, itās depreciated, itās old and on a shit engine. No one will buy the game for, there will be 4 servers, 1 will last 2 months, everyone back to tf2, darkrp, or ttt. Itās irrelevent to anyone and any consumer at this point. Unless your are living in 2009 still. I sure hope your arenāt living in 2009 still.

Eh, Iām sure Iāve said some things, but Iām fairly certain theyāre either heated opinions, or just general opinions. If thereās anything absolutely horrible that Iāve ever said, anywhere, chalk that up to my drinking days lol.
Iām excited by the concept of GMT coming back as a generic gamemode, it seems like a fitting way to bring back the gamemode we love while also allowing Tower Unite to keep going on with a good amount of attention of both projects. While I am concerned over what will happen to it (canāt wait for the GMT CLASSIC - 50K GMC START - PVP - JOBS servers to pop up) I assume that not many will be willing to do that much.
But it brings up some questions on it.
Will it just be the code or will there be assets and such released as well?
Is it ALL of the code including gameworlds, casino, flash integration, etc or just stuff to run the condo, items, plaza, etc?
Would there be ways for Pixeltail to enforce the license they have said they would go for with this release?
Either way, I assume that Pixeltail knows what theyāre doing with this and hope the best for this. It is getting quite heated in the comments though and I hope some action gets taken in to reinstate order. Weāre supposed to be a healthy community after all!

Iām just gonna post one last thing here and Iāll probably be done looking at this post for the next 500 years. I just wanted to let out my thoughts since this whole thing is making me irrationally angry.
Iām sick of people asking for GMod Tower to be brought back. I donāt even want GMod Tower to be brought back at all anymore at this point, official or otherwise. I donāt want to see people constantly bitching about how Pixeltail is the worst company ever because they donāt want to work on a 2-decade old engine for a mod that that they didnāt even get any money from besides donations.
All of this has just ruined a whole era of my life at this point. I just want this all to be over. I donāt want GMT to be open source. I donāt want it anymore, period.

All I ever did for that version of GMTC was remake minigolf. Never touched the leaked code myself. I was generally neutral on the situation; understood why both sides did what they did, but just wanted to help a fan project.
Iām pretty happy about the open source thing, myself. Lets these sorts of fan projects exist without having to rely on shady code. Since itās under GNU, are edits allowed? This would allow different server hosts to have their own lobbies and gamemodes while retaining everything that made the core gameplay.

buggy or not the code would be great for learning from, I really hope the devs follow through with releasing the gamemode for the current generation of gmod to enjoy.

Never played GMT, played less than 10 hours on TU.
In conclusion: spread kindness regardless of your opinion(s) because we are all, at the end of the day, only human. Weāre all trying to enjoy our time here, whether āhereā is GMT, TU, or even Garfield Kart (Iām not one to judge game choice) - please please PLEASE remember to spread kindness as you all scroll, reply, post, and share on this forum.

As controversial as this may be, I can see why some players are disappointed with how Macs respond to certain players and situations. He personally kicked me from the official Discord three years ago when I was a dumb highschooler. It wasnāt even for anything serious; it was for being toxic. Despite my involvement in TU, I have never been allowed back. I have attempted to reach Mac through the forums; Caboose has always forwarded to Mac or added to group convo, Mac never responds.
It seems like a lot of this situation is mismanagement of the whole ordeal. I love PixelTail and TU, have never voiced otherwise. But with these announcements and delays, targeting a community only to pull back publicly, bringing more like to the drama. Poor choices.
