I get the stealing part, but I was only speaking about people being negative towards everyone else. I probably should’ve clarified that sooner.

There’s definitely a lot of trash being thrown in both directions. I won’t sit here and pretend like the GMT rehost communities aren’t the ones generating most of it, though. I definitely agree there are a lot of people that are more ready to believe what they hear and talk shit.
I also am not in full support of what the dev team has done on multiple occassions, but that’s how it goes with any group I guess. I just feel like a lot of this could have been avoided.

Well keep in mind this is after years of trying to keep their past projects their own, and people stealing their code and getting angry as if they have right to it. It’s probably extremely stressful to wake up every other week to see yet another clone of your game running.
I think people forget that Pixel Tail isn’t some AAA company that doesn’t hear anything you say, Pixel Tail is a small dev team, and word gets around on the internet. They have to read all the negativity and still try to pull it together to work on their project despite how much shit they constantly get for an old Gmod version of a game they used to run.

i don’t normally mean to act this way this is just years of extreme fucking frustration, dealing with these people spreading false information and bullshit accumulating to this is unacceptable, tower’s community normally isn’t like this as long as you disassociate yourself with the GMT classic people. This has been a long time coming

you arent contributing anything to discussion and are in fact making everything worse by creating even more hostility than there already was. stop generalizing everyone who wants gmt back as some asshole troll who wants to destroy pixeltail and mac. they are normal people just like you, and them having a different opinion does not give you the right to completely write them off as “fucking annoying people”. its unfortunate how much hostility there is between these two groups but it was pretty much an inevitability ever since gmt was taken down, because then any effort to bring gmt back would have to be in direct opposition to pixeltail.
releasing the code is the best they could have done as it allows both communities to have what they want without having to fight. TU is still going to be worked on with no interruptions. And the gmt community can make their own servers and continue to relive the gamemode that they love.
and before you write me off as another gmt fangirl (as if thats a valid reason to do so).
i personally like both of them quite a bit and would love for them to be able to coexist. ive had plenty of fond memories of them and will continue to play both into the future. im just tired of the constant hostility and would like things to move forward in an actually productive direction.

If they release the source code, I’d reckon there’d be a good chance that the majority of TU’s current playerbase would flock to the new GMT servers and never come back.

Is there any ETA on when we might get the github link? Not to rush or anything, just really excited since I never got the chance to experiance Gmod Tower when it was around before and I’ve heard a good bit about it from some friends of mine. I’m very excited to see it for the first time
