Accessibility Related Suggestions Megathread

There is an option to increase the size of UI towards the bottom of the Graphics settings in the settings menu. I’m not sure if it changes everything you’ve brought up, but it does adjust things like the chat size, the timers in game worlds, and key prompts.

hey there! i have two accessibility requests:

1st is due to chronic pain and instability in my hands - the ability to toggle the menu that is bound to [TAB] as opposed to having to hold the button down would be a big improvement for me

2nd, i have auditory processing disorder and would greatly benefit from the ability to turn off the “sunshine day!” sounds that occur when you get an achievement

i love dark voyage, but i have some trouble clicking rapidly & it’ll make my wrists hurt… some way to fire automatically (of course, not as fast as clicking manually) would be very nice for people that have problems clicking rapidly in cases like these!

Does a mouse with a turbo clicker count as using macros?

I believe the metal-detecting sun glare on the screen makes it very annoying to use, it would mean an excellent quality of life if there was less glare or just even none at all

it would be nice to have flashing effects lessened in dark voyage (i believe there were some that were pretty strong in there?), as well as a more visible reticle (i find myself clicking around a lot to figure out where my cursor is because i can’t see it!).

the arcade overstimulated me the first few times i went in due to the amount of noise in a small space. it would be nice if there could be a filter that softens or quiets it, or an option that changes the falloff for machine sounds so they aren’t all playing so far away from themselves.

accelerate has an issue with its camera where, if you are turning too fast, the camera has a hard time ‘catching up’ or staying oriented behind the player, and it can cause me to become disoriented often.

thanks for making this topic!

I am in mini golf right now. A player has identified himself as being color blind. The green turf with red flag is very problematic. I think you need a color blind setting that allows those affected by this to set the color of both the turf and flag to match their vision needs. As well the arrow indicating the ball power using ‘red’ is problematic for being color blind.

I have Hallucinogen Persisting Perception Disorder, so the drunk visual effects should be something you can disable. It can be triggering.

In addition to this, I wish toggling the vomit would actually disable throwing up. It doesn’t just, turn it off…

As someone with Arachnophobia it’s increasingly hard to want to play the zombie massacre minigame because of the boss at the end and the regular spiders that accompany it. If there was an accessibility option to flat out change it to a different type of model like a catsack or something like skeletons instead I would very much so appreciate it.

I’m legally blind (20/400 vision) so reading the HUD and chat can be pretty challenging, would you be able to increase how much you can enlarge the HUD, and also add an option to scale chat to larger sizes?

Also, plese make the disable vomit effect option actually disable it fully, its still pretty annoying.

You can rescale the UI in the Graphics section.

I do think we should move this option to the accessibility section.

I know, but it doesn’t really go high enough to help me much; I was hoping that maybe it could be enlarged more than 120. I understand though if increasing it further could break things.

the UI rescale helps a lot, font size settings for the chat would be perfect

For the first one why not color blind mode for the people who are well color blind

I’ve realised that when editing my condo, I’m often having to hold the Q button to keep the inventory open and be able to move/rotate/scale objects which gets uncomfortable after long periods of time.

I think this can be resolved by allowing players to choose whether they want to tap or hold Q for the inventory menu. This should result in not only disabled players being able to use the inventory/build mode more easily, but also make it comfortable for non-disabled players.

being able to right click to equip items would be nice instead of only being able to hold down and drag, and on behalf of my friend, arachnophobia toggle for things like the spider boss in zombie massacre and in the dark voyage, and the spider noise for the plushie

came up one more issue for me in game. it my fear of thunder.
so local block of the tunder effect culd nice when condo hoping.

are are other phobia culd have filter for like with spiders to swap the model out with someting else with simuler hitbox.

First Person Legs

The First Person Legs doesn’t have the option to hide the head and/or hair because the First Person Camera/Point of View is litterally clipping through the player model’s head.

While the ability to adjust the User-Interface Scale is great, I feel like it should be able to be adjusted further in size, higher than the current cap. Friend of mine who struggles with visual stuff hard felt as though the current cap of 120 wasn’t enough

EDIT: I just saw the above post asking for the same thing, wasn’t aware lmao
