ZM - Tempest (and SDNL - Wharf)

Hello! I made a map for Zombie Massacre on the workshop and you can play it right now. I started working on it in August of last year and it’s got a lot of ‘stuff’ and ‘content’. It would be nice if you played it, I think.

This map is affected by a few bugs which I haven’t found a workaround for (mainly, movers don’t work, so a few things don’t look/work as they should). Despite that, it’s still fully playable start-to-finish. There’s a bug reports/known issues thread on the workshop page if you want to see a full list of issues or report anything weird that you find.

The map is pretty big, very close to Trainyard in size. It’s set in a crusty, creepy, wet, abandoned fishing town with a variety of unique areas. It’s actually a port of a map I made for SDNL but it’s prettier and more wet now.

There’s a ton of events that have a random chance of happening. Sub-objectives, stuff washed ashore, monsters and creatures that are supposed to move around but their legs are broken right now, etc. Besides that, the map also has day/night cycles, random weather patterns every day, and 3 seasons randomly chosen at the beginning of the week. There’s a lot to see and you’d probably need to play the map dozens of times to encounter it all.

Bumping this to mention that I just updated the SDNL version of this map that I briefly mentioned in the third paragraph of this thread.

The update adds all the visual improvements I made for the ZM version, but also several new areas exclusive to the SDNL version. It’s pretty huge now, and fun for jumping around. If you like Frostbite, you would probably enjoy this map too.

Besides the new areas, I also added a couple little gimmicks and QoL features:

  • Like in Meadows, you can go out of bounds, but you’ll take damage until you get back in bounds
  • The crocodiles from the ZM version can show up on the beaches and chomp you
  • If you destroy too many physics items (crates, explosive barrels, etc) in a round, they’ll automatically respawn so you can’t run out of stuff to throw with the Grav Glove
