What GPU do the devs use?

Same here, using AMD for so long (and was never proud of it just so you know :stuck_out_tongue:), no problems. I myself like them just as much Zak though, and I’d really wish to have an NVidia graphics card. Does not make me laugh about the image replies though…

That’s odd as hell. The only problem I ever had with this AMD card were some flickering lights in a Leadworks Engine demo.

I’m using an amd 6870 and it’s running hot hot hot

Oh man. I wonder if Tiiss is gonna do this image reply thing on an admin now.

(Unless you’re not being serious.)

Nevermind, I think I misunderstood Foohy’s post :expressionless:

Overclocked an AMD.
Yay, time to upgrade!

I had an AMD card a few years ago.
It managed to completely destroy HL2’s graphics.

never again.

What the hell? Why am I having no problems with an AMD? JUST WHY??!!

They probably got their shit together more recently, but I personally don’t have a reason to switch from nVidia.

@Matt and myself have Nvidia GTX 680

Remember that at least 900 Series GTX cards overclock themselves and cap natively at 80 degrees celcius.

Holy shit this thread is hilarious.

Not a dev but I use a Radeon 6950 2gb.

I’m using an Asus Radeon R9 290 4G and got no problem.

I think if you have an Intel CPU with integrated graphics, it may count it along with your dedicated GPU. Does anyone know if this is the case? Or does it only count your the GPU connected to your primary display?

AMD

NVIDIA

Now.

I don’t think the 6800 series cards ran up to the thermal limit of 95 degrees Celsius. I believe that is a recent R9 series thing.

However, 95 Degrees vs 80 Degrees are still hot nonetheless.

My workstation at Seagate has an R9 295X2 and that thing is hotter than the surface of the fucking sun, I tried outfitting it with a water pump and some high quality cooling liquid and it still runs 150-200 celcius

and that is why I set my PC name to “TheSun”

I’m sorry what

That’s outrageously hot.
Like, are you sure you didn’t mean Fahrenheit? Because holy shit.
Maybe the temperature reader is broken?

holy fuck i just saw the error in my post xD that should say 150-100

Surely you mean Fahrenheit. Nvidia Cards shutdown after 105 Degrees Celsius.
