Hello everyone, and welcome to the Weekly Dev Log for October 19th, 2020, detailing all the changes that have happened since October 12th, 2020. Note: Devs that don’t appear in the weekly log are not necessarily away or not doing work, but may be working on things currently not announced or backend work that doesn’t need to be detailed.

Priority Survey - October 2020

Since the Arcade has been released, this survey is all about prioritizing the order of upcoming updates. While we have our own internal goals and direction we want to take the game next, we would love to hear your thoughts on what priority you think we should move in!

October 2020 Condo Contest

This month, we’re running a spooky, Halloween-themed Condo Contest! This contest ends at 11:59 PM PST on October 31st, 2020. Winner takes home 1,000,000 units! You can read more about the contest, as well as rules for Co-op condo submissions here.

Halloween 2020 Update

Work continues on the Halloween 2020 update, which will bring back the Halloween Plaza, various Halloween Events, Halloween Items, polishing passes on Zombie Massacre: Gasoline and Zombie Massacre: Compound, as much more. You can view the whole list here.

@Johanna finished minor touch-ups with the Halloween Plaza, and finished the polishing passes with Zombie Massacre: Gasoline and Zombie Massacre: Compound.

@macdguy continued working on implementing the Halloween events, EXP, and achievements, while also touching up the quest system from last year. He also fixed a couple visual bugs with Zombie Massacre and Virus, fixed the Spider Boss in Zombie Massacre not spitting acid correctly, and worked on a better seasonal switcher for switching props and materials for Holiday events in the Plaza.

@Sketchman worked on achievement icons for the Halloween achievements, while also finishing up work on the Zombie Massacre projectiles.

Better Item Icons

@macdguy worked on improving the thumbnail system to speed up taking image icons while also improving the overall image quality.

@Madmijk added snapping slots to all of the standard canvas variations (cutouts, posters, and their wide and tall variations) and the glass panel item.

@Sketchman continued working on Workshop related crashes and bugs.

@Wheezwer worked on a new background for Typing Derby, and worked on sprites, ship designs, and character designs for the Galaxy Time (formerly Galaxy Police) cabinet.

@Will continued working on music for the Accelerate map, “Waterfall”.

Maps for ZM look damn amazing, I like them so much. Can’t wait for Halloween update anymore.

Some stuff looks nice and all, but ya’ll don’t want to get into that situation where one tiny little toothbrush will cost a gig of space.
Jokes aside, this is looking really nice, and I can’t wait for the Halloween update.

I mean as long as they don’t make the models with the purpose of using them in high quality renders it should be fine

The new Waterfall track kind of reminds me of Redout, or maybe F-Zero. I’m interested to see how it’ll turn out.


I’m really liking the look of waterfall, I can already tell that I’m going to be picking it a lot purely on the visuals. Also the golden gun looks amazing. Also Also loving the new look for the ZM maps.

On the topic of ZM, do you guys have any plans for a new map?
