Playable Board Games

I’ve wanted this a while, and the post about board game items reminded me, so I’ll make the request, with examples.

How it’d work:

Option 1: You have a boxed board game item to put on a shelf with a respawn spot. Picking it up allows you to select a place to put it down, which then deploys the open game onto the surface you select.

Option 2: Specific board game tables. You need the table to use games, much like how you need Media Players & Game Consoles to use Physical Media items. You’d then take the boxed games listed in option 1 and throw them on the table to load that game, which deploys it on the table top. (Game table is locked from loading other games onto it when it’s in use).

Note: these of course would be physical boards, not digital “video” board games", and would need 2+ players, with no A.I. needed to be coded into them for solo play.

Games:
So obviously, you’d want to focus on the simple games that are easy to code. Larger games like Risk™, Monopoly™ or Life™ would be complicated and time consuming.

Here’s a list of games I think you could easily model and code to work:

1: Checkers

2: Battleship

3: Connect Four

4: Candy Land

5: Chutes & Ladders

6: Guess Who?

7: Chess
(Little more complicated coding)

I’ve mentioned it a few times but I’d also like to see a Life Size Outdoor Chess board, something that could be near the boardwalk as you might see in real life (though I can’t say I have personally). I think it would give a little more life to the plaza and give reason to stick around others similar to the Arcade Boardwalk games.

Adding onto that, scattering around a few tables and chairs where you can sit down and play these board games would be neat. Outdoor Chess like at a park is very much a thing, being able to choose from the list you mentioned yourself would be better though.

I absolutely would love all of this, in general I love playing board games with friends and Tower Unite is really perfect for that!!

Far from the first time this has been suggested; far from the first time I will heavily vie for it.

These were in GMT back in the day and were a lovely little thing to do waiting for a game queue or between the busier moments. Would add a lot and I expect be a relatively small amount of dev time.

Hell I’m sure for something like checkers and maybe even chess there’s probably some open source code they could tweak in easily. It’s why I kept to simple stuff. Fun to play with someone for a minute, easy to add in.

A little bit of coding could make for like that update’s headline feature.

This has been suggested multiple times before and yet I can’t help but agree every single time. This needs to happen, but thankfully is already in plans from what I know - Playable board games are going to be a thing, I just can’t remember where I heard this but I know it’s confirmed to be coming. Speaking of that, adding myself to the list
