“Missing manifest” error when trying to install tower unite armature addon

I am following the prerequisites in the guide below

I have installed the most recent version of blender on their official website and the workshop rig above.

However after trying to install the blender addon I get a “missing manifest” error.

I have done a bit of googling and I found a guide on YouTube using an older version of blender and a link to an older version of the rig that’s not even available anymore and you need to go on wayback machine to find, but I’d like to know if there’s something I’m missing so I can use the most recent supported rig and version of blender.

I’m also new to this community so I apologize if there’s something behind the scenes about model importing I’m missing, thanks.

You cannot use an older rig at all.

You must use the rig that’s provided on our guide, the workshop rig 3.0.

You also cannot use the older TU blender tools addon, which is probably the cause of the missing manifest error.
