Spend a spooky night with the entire family at the Nightmare Theater where you can watch a horror pic or enter the dream theater for a new experience including beds, popcorn and more. Don’t fall asleep in case you have nightmares. Is that fear growing inside your brain make you hungry? There is a full concession area with pool tables, slot machines and the Trash Panda Pizzeria for fun and frightening jungle gym tunnel and all sorts of games and refreshments. The time out wall to chain up the bad youngsters is next to the graveyard for those who never made it out alive.

I don’t mean to be rude, but don’t you need more pictures to submit? Additionally, this seems really similar to @OuTSMoKE 's build.

Hi, sorry I’m a bit older and had a bit of a hard time getting the other pictures up. I also posted just one image with plans to post the rest after, as I was very tired and to my knowledge the contest submissions are not over yet. Mine is not just a theater but a pizza parlor and more. As far as I am aware, we are allowed to use similar concepts. Mine is also using the theater condo, whereas OutSmokes uses Smooth Autumn as far as I know.

Again, it wasn’t my intention to be rude; I just wanted to make sure that you entered the contest properly as there is such little time left before said deadline. Also now that I am actually able to see the build, it is vastly different than the one I previously mentioned and I’d like to apologize for suggesting the similarity.

This condo is a place where you can carve your own digital jack o lantern and display it in a spooky autumn themed world! Each jack o lantern shown in these pictures was carved by a different player, using an in-game carving board.

Thanks to everybody who carved a pumpkin!

Suburban Nightmare (Workshop link)

This was partially inspired by the first mission of an older game called Monster Madness. It’s a culdesac in the middle of a neighborhood during Halloween. It includes a park, basketball court/skatepark, and five backyards to run around in, as well as a few sub objectives. It was our first time using the SDK and we probably bit off a bit more than we could chew, we had to crunch quite a bit to get it finished in time, I think we put around 30 hours into it just in the last 3 days. I hope it’s decent and people enjoy it!

Thank you to everyone who voted for me, and well done to everyone else who participated!

I’d like to take this moment to address something which has bugged me for a long time, which is the voting system used for the condo contests. I am pretty confident in saying that the reason I was able to get first place was not only because of my reputation and connections, but also from essentially meta-gaming the system.

Because I opened my condo often and throughout the day, it gave me the opportunity to show my condo to many people, including people who weren’t aware of the condo contests, many of whom were very new to the game. I was able to get them to vote for me because they hadn’t even really seen the other entries. This is because I had a canvas which linked directly to the google survey page, which meant that the only exposure a lot of them had to the other contestants were the thumbnails of the condos in the survey. In my eyes, this is a bit unfair. Even very simple condos could amass tons of votes using this method.

In fact, you could heavily skew the vote by telling people to vote yours first place, then pick the worst condos for the next four to act as throwaway votes, taking away votes from the more popular condos. (I didn’t do this because it felt very very scummy.)

I am of the opinion that a judge system would be much better than a voting system, since a lot of voters don’t really know what’s going on a lot of the time. It would also prevent biases from players with lots of friends and connections who could vote for them. These judges would also have an eye for detail and skill which the average community voter wouldn’t have.

The only major downside I see from the judge system is the removal of community interaction through the voting surveys. Some people like feeling that they can influence who wins.

Anyway, that’s my two cents on the subject.

Again, thank you all for participating!

“Maitland Attic” is now available to play on the workshop!

Thanks for the votes! I count 3rd place as the highest I could have gotten against @Baby_In_A_Pipe & @GoopGoop  Even then, their were some other great creations that could have easily knocked me even lower!

Flashback Condos looks forward to continuing to entertain Tower Unite players!

Honestly might’ve been the best year for Halloween condos! Everyone did an amazing job. Congratulations to the winners, along with those chosen in staff highlights! I hope most (if not all of these) get uploaded to the workshop for us to explore!

Alternatively they could add a rule that prevents people from adding a ‘vote for me’ canvas in their condos. These contests used to run on a judge-only basis but there were less participants and less community interest.
