Dev Log for February 18th, 2026

Hello everyone and welcome to the Dev Log for February 18th, 2026!

:gear: Next Update: Bug Fix Update!

We’ve been working on a bug fix update for Tower Unite that we’d like to get out soon! We made a Bug Roundup Thread to bump some existing long-term bugs that you all want to bump / bring back to the forefront.

:building_construction: Plaza Fixes

@Johanna has continued work on Plaza optimizations and fixes! These include fixes to sound effect issues with water, broken materials, visual errors, and merging some items to improve performance!

:light_bulb: Lighting Item Fixes

@Nuclearxpotato has been working on a TON of fixes to lighting items in the Condos! The brightness and attenuation values for many light items have been corrected, hanging light items now support shadows, and several lighting items got a material pass and revised names for clarity!

:couch_and_lamp: General Item Fixes

Fixes have also been completed for several items!

You’ll now be able to put default canvas surface materials on the canvas body pillow item. Media Shelves and Rental Shelves have had some adjustments to fix problems with rotation and spacing! Material regressions and LOD issues were fixed on various items. You can also now color the plant pot of the Carnivorous Plant!

We’ve also improved audio streaming items by fixing the default range, and we’ve implemented a fix for the spray hotkey activating while using instruments!

The modular Catwalk Stairs’ handrails have been adjusted to be the same height as connecting Modular Catwalks. The original end-cap variants have been replaced with one that doesn’t clip into the handrail of connecting Modular Catwalks, and new endcaps have been added

The Poolcue Rack item has been artpassed and variants have been added + a new loose Poolcue item. The Gramophone has been artpassed and is now an Audio Stream item (like the Potted Carnivorous Plant), it even animates!

:collision: SDNL & Virus Fixes

@macdguy has worked on some fixes to SDNL and Virus! These include a fix for SDNL’s gun game and Virus not always giving the player a weapon, and some respawn issues with Virus.

:desktop_computer: General Bug Roundup Progress

We really appreciate all of the bug reports that have been bumped in the bug roundup thread! We’re working through them steadily and want to continue getting out bug fix updates as we can. Some of the bugs listed are extremely difficult to tackle, so progress might feel slow, but we are tackling them!

:gem_stone: Payouts and Pricing Survey

Unrelated to the bug fix updates, the payouts and pricing survey is over! (There were 849 responses!)

We appreciate you guys participating and filling it out! We’ve been going through the responses and jotting down the notable takeaways from the survey to use while doing testing on the games in-game economy. The community perspective is very helpful.

We’ve been doing tests on game length vs. payouts, pay-in vs. payouts, Condo building time vs. game play time to earn Units, and game vs. game comparisons, and other tests, all supplemented by information you all gave.

This testing is not only to improve the feeling of payouts. We’ve also been discussing some QoL changes unrelated to payouts such as improvements to Laser Tag and Fishing gameplay experience.

Once the testing is over, we’ll be able to implement some improvements that will help with the overall feeling of Tower Unite!

:star: New Items

Vent Duct modular items have been created, allowing players to quickly assemble explorable vents using Item Snapping!

The Scattered Laundry item was created, with control over the variant and pattern of the clothes, as well as Laundry Carts: two separate items with variants changing their contents

That’s a Wrap!

That’s going to do it for this week’s dev log! Be sure to keep an eye out for the next one!

I hope this includes possibly lowering the amount of grind needed for Fishing milestones, and I say this as someone who finally got all of them earlier this year. That grind was way, way longer than anything else in the game.

It’d also be nice if we could go fishing in condos (maybe by placing a new “fishing volume” I/O item?).

Glad to see all the new laundry-related items. Will there also be hung up versions of those clothes? That’d double as being useful for filling closets or clothing stores. Looking forward to all these fixes and additions!

Yes, I just asked @Nuclearxpotato about hanging clothes items and he said he plans to work on them!

Also yes, the QoL stuff we’re looking at will include looking at grind issues like that, thank you for mentioning it!

To be more specific of what I was talking about there, we discussed adding proximity indicators to laser tag, and I brought up some further accessibility improvements for the fishing camera (like a static camera option). Those two games ranked very high in the “I like playing this game” but “I don’t play it” kind of categories.

That scattered laundry item woke me up from the dead, oh baby I’m coming home. Thank you all for your hard work, cant wait to see all the improvements! Sorry I haven’t played much, but I will be back soon

White and gold is a weird color combination for a dress like that.

laundry items is going to be exciting! One less workshop item needed is always a great thing!

I’m actually hype for the rework with the Catwalk!
I’m currently using it on my of my project, so I’m happy!

Vents will definitely help for city condos! Can’t wait for people to use it!

Keep up the good work on killing bugs!

That’s actually one of the reasons I check these logs! lol

I hope laser tag gets some updates, its being eaten alive by the casino

The day the White Woman Bug™ is fixed is the day I sell my soul to SDNL. Thank you developers for the hard work y’all do.

WOW, I am a huge fan of clothing items, very useful! also digging the modular catwalk fix, i can see myself using it a lot! oh and modular vent items too, a lot of builds requires them, that’ll be fun!! good for horror builds too (:

i look forward to changes on payouts, this should be interesting!! is it possible that we could see pie charts and results from payout / pricing survey? i love statistics, i find them very interesting (:

i am most excited about the big fix update personally, can’t wait to see how that’s going!

edit: again, i appreciate the clothing items a lot, extremely useful- in the past i had to use workshop items; meaning additional loading time for guests; also great for cozy bedrooms, apartments, laundry store, groceries and so on = v =

also can’t wait to see improvements to laser tag and fishing- i actually like them quite a bit but doesn’t play them often because it’s not easy to get enough players to do laser tag with and fishing isn’t rewarding (imo) at the moment; milestone rewards are excellent though

Good evening

Where do we buy the laundry items? I’ve been through every store in the plaza & also Tower Express.

Thanks!

Ah they will be in the next TU update, sorry for the confusion! Dev Logs cover what we’ve been working on behind the scenes, so the items are finished, but not in game yet.
