Agreed! Im currently trying to circumvent this with the aquarium volume block but it doesn’t seem to be working well underwater. My fish wont swim around
An enclosed valley map featuring waterfalls, trees, ponds, and a larger cabin and a small hiking trail leading to a lookout tower. All of this using assets from Pine Valley.
Can we have a way to disable built-in condo ambience?
I’m back. Fear me. Here with another condo idea that has been sitting in my head for a while.
A home about half/Two-thirds the size of the Courtyard Villa, nestled in a secluded (probably very unsafe and impossible) southwestern canyon.
A New Mexican/Southwestern style home, surrounded by pine, accessed via a river canyon filled with red rock and leafy greens. This spills out into the desert, featuring a small abandoned gas station along a long stretch of road.
Taking inspiration from the fictional biomes of Half-life, as well as the real nature and features of Oak Creek Canyon, Arizona and the Colorado Plateau, as well as some New Mexico and the Sonora Desert.
Let me lay it out a bit.
Here is a rough layout of what I’m thinking.
Firstly, the house. I imagine something traditionally themed. Adobe. As I said above, maybe half to two-thirds the size of the Courtyard Villa. Maybe two floors. A master bed, a few extra smaller rooms, living room, kitchen dining, and an entry space. Probably a semi-open layout. Outside the entrance would be a mid sized walled in courtyard. Plenty of room to set up your outdoor hangout space, but not as glitzy as villa (And no pool)

Now looking at the surroundings, starting at the bottom, We have the desert. Big cacti, a long open road, sand and sun. An old retro gas station (Evoking those sweet Route 66 vibes) sits by the entrance to a canyon that used to be popular with hikers before it was developed. A river spills out from the canyon, with the road following it out of bounds.
This is the perfect spot to enjoy a sunset among the cacti, or go rafting down the river to beat that desert heat!

Headed towards the house, you enter the lovely Lower River Canyon. Ample water year round and nice weather year round has developed a diverse forest ecosystem. Here you can find Sycamores, Cottonwoods, Oaks and Willows lining the road the winds gently with the river. At the end of the canyon, the road takes a sharp hairpin turn on an uphill path that brings you to the upper canyon. As you get higher, the trees start turning from leafy type, to strong more hardy pines. A waterfall flows off the cliff edge of the Upper Canyon into the Lower Canyon.

The Upper River Canyon is dominated by Pine and similar plants. A fantastic place to retreat during the summer months for some cooler temps. The road crosses the river at the mouth of the canyon as the pines thicken, and takes a smooth curve towards the house. The river itself leads towards a back cliff, with another, even more magnificent waterfall.

There it is. A large an very varied nature area, with a modest (for TU) sized home. Plenty of options to build your dream southwest/cowboy home, or a completely custom creation! And of course, a few map secrets with local flavor.
A small underground “government bunker” hidden in the gas station
A secret cave that leads to a platform with a doorbell. Ringing this doorbell will have the user lifted into their own small UFO!
For the record, this is a raw, unrefined idea and would certainly need lots of work and changes! Written one one take with only a general idea and some pictures!
Maybe “Catsack Canyon” is a good name? Lol
This.
A toilet room decoration with traditional Japanese art inspiration that plays music and moves forward and back.
This haunted me as a child and now it should haunt others, too.
Halloween is coming.
Seasonal variants of Smooth Autumn, eg.
Smooth Summer
- Has a beach, and is characterised by having lots of palms and deciduous trees that are in full leaf, and super tall long grass
Smooth Spring
- Characterised by having lots of Sakuras and flowers, and having a similar look and feel to Minigolf Garden
Smooth Winter
- Characterised by having lots of evergreens, conifers, deciduous trees that have shed their leaves, with fresh snowfall that is deep to walk in, comparable to the Nahnia minigame area in the Plaza — a must have for Christmas addicts
I love this idea!
Y’know what, this would be perfect - I really hope these variants are added into the game.
I absolutely want these!! i also want more condo maps in general
Severely overdue a new condo thats not just empty space (as much as I love smooth dirt its nice to have something prebuilt)
Personally I would want a cozy treehouse of some description by a river
Log cabin out in a pine tree forest hell yeah
I feel like it’s enough if someone just uploads this on Workshop, but on that end, I don’t see it being too easy to recreate either, so I’m not sure what to really decide here.
