Can someone help a poor baka gaijin get into these newfangled Japanese cartoons. Dunno where to even start, though I have a small history with them.
I’m not a big knowledge about the topic, but I can try. What kind of stuff do you like?
My only experience with anime has been a sizable chunk of InuYasha, one episode of Akame ga Kill (which I plan to revisit), one episode of Fruits Basket, and one episode of Shingeki no Kyojin.
I’ve also seem many clips of Nichijou, and it looks pretty neato.
Because of my limited experience, I can’t exactly say what my preference for anime is. I like comedy, well-written dark stories, cute and young characters, plot, and well just anything that’s interesting. I’d like for main characters to not be annoying or weak, which is a trait I see in many animus.
You should start on Kanon and move to Clannad. After those two, you may want to see me

Whelp, here goes nothing. I’ve got about two hours left before it’s all downloaded.
I still haven’t seen Clanned, but I also have planned to watch it. Maybe it’s time to finally take the dust out of those .mkv videos I never opened.

I finished re-watching A Certain Magical Index and now I’m rewatching A Certain Scientific Railgun. Railgun has the best intro theme song ever. Next to the God Only Knows intros.
I always skip the intros. I love them to death, but they can be super spoilery.
Bakamonogatari has an awesome one.
