So trying to upload a model and adjust the materials (to add some as masked textures), however tweaking any of the materials causes it to lose most of the model’s detail.

Not sure if this a bug that needs to be fixed or an issue with something entirely different.
What you see disappear is the normal maps. Currently there is a known visual bug where they will disappear when editing any metadata values. This does not affect the model outside of the workshop editor, and normal maps will work as normal in-game. Upload it and see for yourself.
I see, was a bit worried this was more than a visual bug as I heard it affected the uploaded model afterwards.
