[0.18.3.0] Something is wrong, I dunno what, lol

So I’m not 100% sure it’s TU, but I’m having an issue randomly where I lose monitors. They all go black, yet I can hear audio. Resetting with the buttong on my PC is the only way I found to un-fuck it. While this seems to probably be something in my actual system, it has literally ONLY happened while Tu is running, so something to keep an eye on maybe?

It also may be related to NVidia changing GeForce Experience into that new NVidia app, as each time it’s happened has been after I updated that (I dumped it completely after the last time this happened, so that might fix it). It also could have been GPU drivers (which I’ve also clean re-installed, so THAT might fix it).

Either way, I wanted to bring it to your attention since again it’s only happened while I’m in the game doing something. It’s happened I think 4 times in the past month, once tonight while I was editing and moving a sound volume, the rest were while I was standing still in a theater just watching a movie with people, and the latest one I was tabbed out doing something else. It’s never happened while I’m gone and the condo’s left open, or tabbed out of TU (even running a second game while the theater runs in the background for people).

System: i7-1077k/32GB DDR-4 3200/RTX 3090 TI

So far this has only happened in the Holiday Cinema condo. I’ve yet to pin point anything that happens at the time, considering I can’t see anything when it happens, lol.

So it also happened earlier today in the theme park, so…

I took my PC apart to clean it and check connections, in the process fucked up my CMOS and had to get the PC to boot again, then re-installed all the old BIOS for the board. The BIOS might have been corrupted and it may be okay now, fingers crossed, but also all signs point to a PSU issue. It’s still weird that it’s only if TU is running, though. Might be some bullshit in Unreal tripping it.

I’ve been through multiple condos so far tonight, hosting my bigger condos to try and get it to do it, but it hasn’t yet. I’m sure once I stop trying and go do something else it’ll happen, lol.

Update: It doesn’t seem to be explicitly related to TU, as it just happened while I was running Memtest86.

I now have a list of things it COULD be.

  • CPU Failing
  • PSU Failing
  • GPU Failing
  • Motherboard Component Failing
  • Nvidia’s latest driver is just shit.

That really narrows it down…

This was hardware related and in no way linked to Tower Unite. The fact that it was mainly only happening while Tower was running was merely a coincidence considering Tower’s almost ALWAYS running on my system. You can delete this topic.
