Youtube Closed Captioning Support

Hey, I am a bit hard of hearing, and I usually use closed captions when I am watching youtube in order to understand what voices in videos are saying.

Are we able to get support for youtube’s closed captioning in media players? Captions are very helpful to people with hearing impairments and serve as a huge relief in being able to understand what is being said in a video.

I don’t know how possible this is under the current implementation of media players, but I did not see a suggestion for this anywhere so I figured I would create one.

I have seen videos with subtitles on YouTube and it works on Tower.

@Agent2583 Are we talking hard or soft subs here? Of course hard subs would work. I assume OP is talking about soft subs.

yes soft subs, not captions hard coded into the video

some video captions do work, tried this out with a friend the other day, but others don’t, couldn’t figure out the reason why.
