Good day I have a kinda a unique issue with this game with workshop items loading from the incorrect hard drive. So to kinda break down how I have this issue is a massive issue that I have doing stuff into my condo now.
Loading into condo once I hit add on workshop part triggers a load from my slow HDD hard drive. Even once everything is loaded my performance still is very actively being suffered by loading into menus and on my task manager I can see my HDD is getting hammered after installing everything onto my M.2.
I wiped all workshop related stuff on my HDD and reinstalled the game even wiping out anything point the game to either drive before reinstalling. After reinstalling I go back into my condo and everything seemed better until it went into my workshop then it made a workshop folder into my HDD again for no reason.
Before I wiped everything I moved everything workshop related onto my M.2 then did a system link to it and that didn’t fix my problem at all.
So right now I am kinda stuck how can I redirect everything Tower Unite into my M.2 without touching my HDD. I do upload sound packs from HDD onto workshop if that would help with anything. Not sure if this is a bug that it just makes workshop folders on every drive that Steam is installed on or is it trying to pull resources from my local drive for sounds I have installed.
Update on this. I updated my Bios and my RAM got fixed but just loading into condo is still triggering my E drive to load items. It seems like general items for my condo that is loading in is trigger E drive. Seems like a weird bug or a old config file maybe on E drive but I wouldn’t know where to look unless someone has a suggestion.
Alright I found out what happened. My buddy had a suggestion to check out. So this is something I learned was whenever your system runs out of available RAM it will try to seek somewhere else to get RAM. So what happened what when windows was installed a setting called: “Windows Virtual Memory Settings” onto E drive by default. I swapped everything over to C drive and load into my condo. It loads faster now but sadly I have too many detailed items in my lobby of my condo that still maxing out my RAM. But yeah issue is solved by finding our my condo won’t be fixed until I get a more powerful PC but even then others joining will have the same issue.
