Tower Unite - How to Run on Mac operating system (NOT TESTED)

  1. Install “Virtual Machine” and set it up to Windows 7-10

If somebody don’t know what is virtual machine
2. install steam on your 2nd operating system
3. Download TU

WARNING: THIS WASN’T TESTED!
YOU ARE DOING IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

This method might have issues as by default, Virtualbox does not allow GPU passthrough operations and because of this the game may not function at all.

It still does say not tested :stuck_out_tongue:

then why did you post this thread

VirtualBox does not offer any D3D to OpenGL Translation. So it might even refuse to start UE4 in a VirtualBox VM (OpenGL performance is also very poor).
But Mac users might be able to try Wine in the near future. https://www.winehq.org
Atm it does not support D3D11 but only D3D9 to OpenGL translation, but they are preparing for it: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Wine-2.3-Released
Also VisualC++2015 has to be installed through winetricks, as it is required to run UE4 and the official setup file does not work.

Those were thoughts that something like that could be done l

That’s like saying “if your electricity isn’t working, try poking around the fuse box with a screwdriver (NOT TESTED)”

Yep. If you want to post a tutorial, please test it or know what exactly you’re messing with first. That’s sorta the point of a tutorial, to have what you wanted in the end. Just in the future, do a bit more research and test first.
