Tower Unite "Community Ambassadors"

I know of a few streamers and YouTubers who regularly stream/record Tower Unite, and that’s really cool. What if there was a way to apply to a Tower Unite “Community Ambassador” program (like Discord Hypesquad) where they get an in-game badge and some other cool stuff?

One idea I had would be, they could link their Twitch account to TU and when they’re streaming and in-game, it says [LIVE] next to their name. That way people in-game know they’re being streamed, and if you click the [LIVE] badge on the players list it takes you to their stream.

They promote Tower Unite, we give them some little benefits in return. What do you guys think? Just a tiny little idea I had.

Sounds like a neat way to promote content creators from within the game and incentivise more people to stream the game.

That said, rewards should be limited to the tag next to their name. In my opinion, it would be unfair for content creators to receive any exclusive items or unit rewards.

Overall, I’d be in favour of this

For sure! I wouldn’t want to give out anything major otherwise it’d just be unfair. Just something small like a tag next to your name would be super cool.

on the TF2/CSGO menus there is a tab that shows who is currently streaming the game, that might be a good idea also

I don’t think there should be the badge and stuff similar to the backer tag.
But the ability to have a [LIVE] indicator on your name instead by linking your account is a nice idea.

I like the badge because then it would have people look at that person’s profile for their twitch/youtube link to watch them. Or have the ability to link their youtube/twitch on their TU profile card

Yeah being able to show you are live and link your twitch profile is good.
But I’m not a fan at all of special in-game items and also not a fan of the exclusive tag really.

I would be glad to be part of this! The Prizim Podcast is something I made in order to bring the community together and anything that helps that purpose would be great!

I feel like this might be a doorway to a lot of harassment… TU is built to be a social game (because it is one), but this means that it’s rather easy to find people. While there are private games and condos, the plaza is largely public (excluding the private ones which are lacking in features and are being phased out iirc). This means people can find and mess with/stream snipe those with the live or streamer badges. Streamers in lots of games including this one like to play with viewers as well, so fully private games each time seems unlikely.
I’m just not sure if it’s worth a “oh neat”, but that’s my opinion.

I definitely would like to see something that allows content creators to show off their work.

That would be a great way to keep the community involved.

I think there is a bit of a general problem when it comes to streamers/Youtubers and games like Tower Unite. It’s pretty much impossible to get any sort of normal game experience when 20+ players are surrounding you spamming firework cannons at all times in the plaza. I don’t think a tag would make that worse, and it might be a fun integration, though I feel there’s a bigger problem with these open party games and online personalities.

I’m up for the ability to link your twitch and let people know when you’re streaming TU, but a little less for the badge/title. They’re a streamer, not a donator or a dev, they have the importance of a basic player. Nevertheless, it’s a neat idea.

Don’t make it a cool kids club like “Ambassadors” but just have it be an optional identity confirmation for everyone. Kinda like the twitter blue tick. “Yes this is indeed ThisIsActuallyNath the famous streamer. And next to him is indeed NotMacDGuy, the kid down the street who just downloaded OBS. They’re both livestreaming from $LINK!”

No cool kids club implies no stuff they couldn’t have unlocked themselves just playing regularly.

Only if you make it mandatory. “Please link your twitch/youtube/steam/4chan account in order to play TU. You cannot unlink them or disable the public display.” I don’t think that’ll be a problem.

I think giving them a clickable “LIVE” tag that opens up their livestream when they’re live should be enough.
