I feel like Tower Unite would be much more unique if we had some sort of card game. I feel like there is a lot of excitement for people that comes with collecting cards. As someone who is part of the generation that grew up with Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh, there’s always been some kind of attraction to those shiny paper cards.
Each card has different attack values on different sides. (See the Card List for a complete list of cards) As said before, each card has its own strengths and weaknesses.
It could be a 3x3 grid, or you could make it scalable; with it being 3x3 to 4x4, or 3x3 to 5x5 with the host determining the size. Another option, ‘Difficulty’ could determine how many blocks are (randomly) placed in the playing field. This would add a level of randomness that makes each game that much more unique.
The cards could all be themed based on Tower Unite items. Such as different maps, furniture items, power-ups, and etc:. Or it could be themed based on different players. There are a lot of possibilities here. We could even include things like Shiny/Holographic cards that are worth more.
Cards could be purchased by different vendors during sales. (Like how sales were done in GMT) With holographic cards being sold on rare occasions. Or a new vendor could be made, ‘the card shop’ which might be the better option in this case. Part of what gives the cards their value is the exclusivity though. So players should not be able to buy every card all at once.
I LOVE THIS! I would be soo down for this. A playable, collectible card game in Tower Unite would be an amazing thing! Maybe we could even hold tournaments, have display cases for our rare cards, etc.
And the idea of a little card shop sounds adorable and so neat
I want this really bad, if only there were super votes.
10/10 would dream again
EDIT: Also if this was in the game and then they made it in real life I would die that would be so neat
MTG was really great too, but I didn’t manage to collect as many MTG cards as I did for Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon. I bought one of the deckmasters collections (Deckmasters Garfield vs Finkel) with a foil Lhurgoyf and was set with that. MTG was geared towards a much more mature crowd than Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh though.
The first time I ever opened a Pokemon booster pack I got a holographic Charizard (which was the rarest and most expensive card at the time). So they had me hooked from the get go. (And I’m not lying. My brother was also there and could vouch for me)
Card games are addicting. People like to collect things. Case and point… Hearthstone, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, MTG, Baseball cards, etc:
maybe different card packs every day and with rares and super rares and legendaries and commons etc etc and maybe you right click on a person to a match and when you battle you throw down the card it becomes gigantic and whatever card that is that monster will appear
That sounds awesome. I can already imagine someone playing a chair card, and it pops out of the card/floor into reality.
The different card packs every day is a pretty good idea too. It gives people the incentive to play the game more as well so its a win-win for PixelTail.
