Tower Glove Tool Suggestion Thread

Suggest epic new tool ideas here :]

Grabber Tool - Tool that can grab and relocate items (and maybe players). Basically Garry’s Mod phys gun. Was also thinking being able to grab the map and move yourself relative to the point you grabbed on the map, could catapult yourself or something idk.

Teleport Tool - Teleports you to where you’re looking.

Attractor/Repeller Tool - Right click creates a point where you’re looking that attracts nearby physics objects or players. Left click does basically the opposite, creating a point where you’re looking that repels nearby physics objects or players. Maybe have customizable strength and radius of the effects. Also have an alternate mode (or maybe have this be the primary cuz it’s probably more familiar to people) where right clicking attracts stuff to the player using it instead of a point where they’re looking, and left clicking pushes those things, also relative to the player (basically a scuffed gravity gun).

Object Paint Tool - While holding left click it will spawn whatever the selected item is within a certain radius. As you move where you’re looking it will place more of the item, with options to adjust randomness of the scale, rotation, and variations of the items placed as well as the ability to increase/decrease the radius that items are placed in. Could be useful for something like populating a forest–just select a tree, hold left click and look around to paint the area with trees that aren’t just all identical in terms of their size, rotation, and the model they’re using if it supports variations.

While using the Copycat, it should display the extra data it’s copying (this may be planned) such as the Variant number.

Physics Blaster - Long-Thought Dead, the Physics Blaster has risen from the dead. Turn Furniture into Physics Items (pretty sure this is already somewhat functional, judging by the Dev Q/A Stream)

I’ve really wanted something that grabs and holds other Players (maybe keep it to just Friends in the Plaza). The Pluck-a-Pal claw always seemed like the choice, but a Phys-beam would be a very nice alternate.

I know that a physbeam exists for Pixeltail staff on the plaza servers, so one for our condo visitors would be nice and sounds plausible to implement.

Damage infliction tool.
Make it a lasertag-esque gun when in the plaza. Pew Pew. usable in PVP.

Collision Tool - equivalent to the Locker tool, but for collision

Hider - lets you hide objects temporarily for building purposes.
Can give an object a transparent texture while letting you place objects on it (for lining up objects), or can temporarily disable collision for object placement while making the object partially or fully transparent (such as placing objects in foliage, or if things are encased in a glass block),

One that just sorta popped into my head-

Selector Tool - Basically shift-clicking in Tower Glove form, allows you to select (and multi-select) items my left clicking them and then right click to unselect. This could have another mode where you can select an area, similar to how placing both ends of ropes works with the Targeter where you select position one and then position two, but instead of a line between them, it creates a box using those two points as opposing corners. If you right click in this mode it’ll set it to be your current location instead of where you’re looking (like how setting teleporter exit destination works), so if you want to select the ground next to the corner of a build and then noclip up to the opposite end, you can just grab it midair, sorta how WorldEdit’s wand works I guess. And then have this selection be able to be used with the Copycat, Transformer, Quick Scaler, (Un)locker, and Stasher (and any future tools that could be applicable).

Here’s one:

Prizim Glove: Left click turns you into the host of a mediocre talk show in a video game, complete with stupid hat and pale skin. Right click plays patented fan-favorite Wallace voice lines!

Jk jk but here’s a real one:

Doorify/Door-Door Tool: Turns a selected object into a Door, with three types (Normal, Double, and Sliding). Related values such as open angle or position, open direction, and other options can be controlled as well to make proper doors out of everything.

I don’t know how performance intensive this would be, but a Decal Paint tool would be pretty cool. Basically it’d allow you to point and click to paint the ground with a certain material (selected from the Condo surfaces or custom image links). It’d be huge for creating paths or just making the ground look a bit more interesting, with patches of leaves on grass or wet stains on a concrete floor.

Another probably too ambitious idea is a Terraforming tool (with an accompanied Terraformable Cube item). It would work similarly to how terraforming works in Planet Coaster; left click to create a bump, right click to carve a hole, and tools to roughen/flatten/smooth terrain. I find the canvas piles we have to be pretty hard to work with, especially for downward slopes and cliffs, so this would be a huge addition for me, if at all possible.

Swapper: replaces the item you click on with a certain selected item (e.g. replacing wood walls with canvas cubes).
Transform/rotation/scale are adjusted accordingly relative to the object you’re replacing, but you can set the default transform/rotation/scale of the object you’re replacing things with (e.g. default wood wall is swapped with a canvas cube rotated 90 degrees on the z axis, scaled a certain amount on the x/y/z axes)

Also, not really a tool per se, but it would be nice to be able to filter what items the tools actually interact with, with the ability to have non-specified items be ignored by the tool raytrace (e.g. using the copycat to mass-adjust canvas piles located under foliage without the foliage blocking tool use).

Decals are planned as a placeable item. They’re currently organised with the IO item on the Item Sheet iirc.

I would love a proper Copy Tool or a Clone Tool to place several instances of the same item, so long as I have enough of that item in my inventory.

Aiming and clicking to place multiple fences instead of dragging them out of my Condo Inventory and re-orienting them repeatedly would be super handy for my builds. Even better if it can copy properties for me like the Copycat. Maybe what I want is just a buffed-up Copycat that can place objects, not just copy properties.

This sounds pretty much exactly like the duplicate mode on the Copycat, which you can toggle with R

Are there any news on Physics Blaster or has it been ditched since? This would be so amazing to see!
