Timezone picker for all time-based items with some more new IO events

Hey there!

I had something that came in my mind and maybe missing when I was peacefully building my current condo project (an IO clocktower, yes).

Currently, it seems that all clocks uses everyone’s computer time. So it’s different for everyone which is kind of an issue when you try to have a set amount of sounds to play. Best exemple I can provide is from today’s patch:

Condo host (me) computer’s time is 9:00AM
Player1 join and tells me it’s 5:00PM from his time and sees that same time on all clocks in the condo
Condo host have IO sounds set to match 9:00AM hour and will strike 9 times
Player1 says my clocktower is broken as it stroke 9 times instead of 5

Then I have this idea which I tried to picture:

That way, everyone could see the same time, including host on all clocks, and IO systems would be much more consistent when you have to a set amount of sounds to play every hour.
For this I thought we could also need this for even more accurate results:

Just feel free to tell me what you think. I’m always looking for new IO ideas!

My timezone is UTC-4 in Quebec, Canada. I hope this feature will help determined where we are.

Just bumping this one because with all the new IO connections and the IO clock module since this post, I still believe this would remain a good and useful idea!

I concur, I was just looking into a way to have a broadcast message for my dedicated condo, as I have a cron job rebooting it once a day, but thankfully I found your post which reminded me that I can’t use clock items, because all players see them in their TZ!

So consider this another bump, this would be very useful!

Would definitely help me give an illusion for multiple NPCs of the same model appear in different places! With this they would seem to have an actual routine :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
