I’m not sure if this is a bug or anything like that, but at night I can go to the stray, but can’t see it.
I clicked on it with use, pressed the red X, but I have no idea why the cat for the stray shop isn’t there.

hes still there, but for some reason, he has become invisible a while ago. You can still buy from him, though. Just go up and E on where he would be.

If I remember correctly, when the cat head and dog head hats just got released they would not show up in the Plaza for some reason. You could equip them but they were not visible. They fixed this issue however, but after they did that I think the stray cat in the Plaza has been invisible ever since.
Perhaps it was just a coincidence.

I think I remember experiencing this issue happening only when i joined the plaza when it was night. Not sure, though. Could be because the event to show it does not execute when you join the server and it is night.
I believe it was discussed a while ago that what you described ended up being the culprit.
Its a bug. When it turns night it triggers the stray but if you join at night you aren’t there for the trigger so you dont see The Stray. I’m sure it will be fixed soon.
