So, it all started on this sand box server; no goal, we were just killing each other. All of the sudden, this one dude said if you type !givemeall in chat, you would get money for the upgrade station. I got curious, and did what he said. I instantly got tons of achievements, and I quickly left the server. I found that the command gives you most, if not all, of the Tf2 achievements… It is very sad that I can’t earn them legit anymore, and I couldn’t find a section of Steam’s support to help.
What are your guys’ thoughts?
Same thing happened to me years back when I first played TF2, but I got tricked into the whole “free weapons” thing. Needless to say, I regret it.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about it. It happened, and there’s no changing it.
You can unearn them with SAM(steam achievement manager)
You can be banned for it, but it is very unlikely, especially when removing achievements, instead of unlocking them.

I remember there was that one server back in 2011 which was famous for giving you all the achievements. Me being a little immature kid back then, I didn’t bother earning them all legitimately, so I just went on that cheat server and gave myself most of the achievements. Didn’t get all.
Seems like there’s many servers out there with this !givemeall achievement hack now?
Never heard of anyone getting banned for it. I have used it myself to fix bugged achievevements.
But if you want to be sure, don’t have a VAC protected game open while using it.

I only play on official servers or custom gamemodes but that happened to me as well. I still wouldn’t risk using SAM though.
I sent a ticket to support yesterday, and they just now responded.
They said I could keep the achievements, or reset all of my Tf2 data…
Yeah, seems like I’m keeping the achievements. 
I remember doing the same mistake. I saw people typing !givemeall so I thought “i wonder what it does”.
It scared me as well, left the server immediately but sadly it was too late.
Am I the only one that actually did this intentionally back in like 2007?
I thought “Oh man, two hundred achievements? No way I’m getting all those. I’ll just go and take them”

I spent a lot of time on achievement servers. Even ended up as a moderator on one for a while.
I can recall, 5 years ago I used to play on that one regularly. And that’s where I know you from actually.

It still exists but there are better achievement maps now
