In the PAYDAY subreddit it’s common to PM or obfuscate Steam Keys because apparently bots scan for them and then they’re gone. Something like “The last character is actually the first”. I don’t know how bots scan the web nowadays but next time you share keys, you might want to consider doing it that way.

What also works is screencapping the keys. Bots can’t read image texts I believe.

Depends on the bot. According to Wikipedia, OCR technology is at least a century old. If you’re trying to protect from a scraper that just filters webpages through RegEx, it’s probably enough.
Well yeah, openly posting Steam keys is never a good idea

- Greedy people can just take them all at once
