Some radios next to fishing locations

The radios that are media players being placed near fishing locations would be stellar, it would be nice to have some music to listen to while chatting with friends while fishing… you know… like real fishing!

As much as I consider this idea to be interesting, I don’t think it’s a good one, nor do I think that it is needed. I and many other people often use the fishing spots not just for the typical fishing stuff, but also because it’s also a bit more out of the way of all the chaos and everything like that that’s usually going on. I can see this only being a major annoyance/nuisance for those that don’t care to listen to music while fishing, and if everyone would be able to turn them on and, what’s worse, pick literally any music, they could easily pick something annoying to get everyone to move out of the way or just be annoying in general. Let’s not make this a thing, alright?

then don’t turn on the radio? The other TVs can be turned off… the radio would be same.

There are three fishing spots. I doubt someone’s gonna do this with all three of them, plus the majority of the people in the area can just vote skip. This is the same with Movie theaters and Nightclub. I’m not sure how this wouldn’t be solved by moving to another fishing location or voting to skip.

Also, if you just don’t want to listen to the radio, you turn it off.

I remember few years ago at the arcade some troll left 3 hour meme song and can’t get voted out despite players not around the area anymore.
I think DragonLord is right to be worried about.

As much I would like it. I just hope devs would already adjusted it before letting your idea in.

would the solution to this not just be… fixing voting?

Yup, pretty much.

Glad to see some support against the idea. I know we can vote things and that the media players only function for someone if they have them turned off (Which I truthfully forgot about when writing my original response on this thread), but I’m still not super sure if this would be a great idea. Plenty of people go fishing for different reasons - Some would probably enjoy the music, but some would likely just want to go away from there once it started.

Well like I said you wouldn’t HAVE to listen to the music if you just turned the radio off.

I think it’s kinda silly to be worried about this, cause this kind of thing isn’t really rampant in other places like the theater, nightclub, poker table, Project 12, Pool side house, lazy river house, arcade billiards, and bowling.

You did say YEARS ago, so the fact you couldn’t say anything more recent is clear to me that it’s not a common occurrence, and even now, someone can’t simply LEAVE a meme 3 hours video on. They’d have to STAY in the area to stack the vote. Tbh, who’s gonna do that just because the fishing areas just now got radios. When there are plenty of other places already to do this kind of trolling. It’s just unrealistic to have this worry when it’s already not an issue.

Furthermore, you can just turn off the radio, move to a new fishing area, or a new plaza. The chances of all plazas and fishing locations having this issue are so astronomically small it’s laughable.

Inclosing, I state again that the worry that troll videos would be placed on these radios is a bit of a reach considering other media isn’t already suffering from this kind of abuse. It’s not rampant now, I don’t see why it would then.

Agree to disagree. It may have happened maybe a long time ago. It’s still a problem to me.
If a bad actor did it there, who to say someone else would do it at fishing spots?

That is my stance. If the devs adjust how media works say: If you leave the media spot then that video is removed from playlist along other videos that in the playlist. Then I would be okay.
Private Theater seems to do that and I believe that should be a thing everywhere in the plaza.

Until then, I don’t think your argument sits well with me.

I think I potentially wouldn’t mind the whole radio thing but yes, only if anything was done about it, like what you just suggested. One way or another I had shared my part on this, but thanks for joining in to the discussion!

This just seems like a complete non-issue, nobody is forcing you to turn on the radio lmao

Your personal problems shouldn’t be a deciding factor on whether or not this suggestion is a good idea or not. I’m sorry someone left a lasting impression on you but it’s not a rampant issue and is just not something that goes on all the time. It’s clearly a one off thing that happened to you, and it’s not like it’s something that doesn’t happen, but it’s also not really an issue that’s out of control either. It just doesn’t happen.

If you leave a media area, then the next person who joins the area can just skip the video… easy peasy. I don’t see how that’s such a big deal, just hold Q and hit skip for the video to go away. If you’re a visual learner, then maybe this video can help you. understand. Otherwise, there’s no need to go the extra step of removing the video when they leave the area… there’s a skip feature… use it.

Sharing facts is not an argument, it’s just a fact that your concern for uncontroable troll videos left with 3 hours or more is incredibly unrealistic. I have given reasons above to prove that videos can be skipped easily, and media can just be turned off.

You’re acting like the addition of these radios will insight troll videos, which is just an unreasonable thought process considering there isn’t media abuse already happening. I’m not saying it won’t happen, period, but you’re acting like the situation is going to cause uncontrollable chaos, which is genuinely not the case.

In closing, adding these will not cause media abuse; media abuse would already be an issue without radios added, because there are other media players in the plaza already.

I do think this is all ridiculous.

  1. There are multiple fishing spots, if someone puts on something you don’t like, you can turn off the radio, or go to another fishing spot.
  2. The odds of someone trolling is really low since people can just skip. If there’s a group of trolls, you can report them, and/or go to another plaza if you really care. If they are following you, you can two-way block them so they don’t follow you.

Ya’ll act like we’re writing laws in government with the level of precaution you take. It’s not a big deal.

I think it’s a great idea would be nice to chill at the fishing spots with peeps and share music with each other, or just listen to some tunes in game while fishing.

I was actually fishing at the Boardwalk and realized it just kept looping the same track over and over. It’d be nice to have radios for that group chill out session while fishing.

Ugh Boardwalk fishing drives me insane. I can’t fish there for longer than an hour cause that tune just loops over … And… Over… And OVER!!! AAAAAAHHH!~
