Custom golf maps can be reviewed and given the ability to distribute credits to players for playing their maps—likewise, a map maker should be rewarded with credits and unique cosmetics for making a map.
I have two ideas on how you can go about accomplishing this:
- Firstly, A large pool of credits, like 125k, could be rewarded to a map maker for achieving credit distribution on their map
- A small amount of credits, like 1k-5k could be given out per player map completion per week.
the former of these two options provides a simple one-time reward for achieving credit distribution, while the latter offers longevity of reimbursement for continuous community play. Variety is a critical source of community health in a social sandbox like TU!
there are plausible exploits to the latter of these two options, like grinding your own map for double the rewards, however I think this should be pretty easily solved by excluding the map maker from the weekly completion check, or the credit reward per hole on their own map.
Lastly, Map makers who release a credit verified map should obtain unique cosmetics to wear, like hats, unique vfx/trails, and a unique variant of the text hat with rolling colors/glows that the normal text hat can’t do.
