Remove the broken linux version so we could use SteamPlay

Here is an idea - Linux version is broken, and it had been broken for a while. However, Valve’s new SteamPlay feature allows to run a lot of Windows games on Linux via their special version of Wine. So since there is no ETA on Linux client here is what can be done - if you remove the linux version from the main depot, and instead make it so that the linux version is only available by opt-in beta, it would open a door for anyone to install Windows version via SteamPlay.

Last we heard, Valve is working on an update that will allow you to launch SteamPlay regardless of the Linux client branch.

We can’t just turn off the branch, we’d have to completely delete the depot and we’d have to request to get it back again. Waiting for Valve to update SteamPlay is a better move right now. There is nothing in the Linux depot, either, we have a beta branch already.

We do plan on investigating this issue again if there’s inaction on Valve’s part or we get our Linux beta going again.
