Did a search and couldn’t find anything on this. Joining mid-round in Accelerate should put you in spectator mode instead of starting you on lap one while everyone else is almost finished. It makes sense to do and I’d rather spectate everyone playing than delay the end of the round by a minute while I try and endlessly catch up to the other players far ahead of me.
Yes, instead of vote-kicking people who can’t finish in time because they joined from the menu said the rounds hadn’t started yet

Agreed. In order to avoid rude players to vote kicking players who can’t finish the race within’ the time limit, they just simply joining the game while in spectator mode. This should be more safe for people who had to wait until the race finishes and then a new round starts by adding players who joined the server.
