Pluck a pal taking tokens AND units

Summary of bug here. when playing the pluck a pal machine it is charging both 50 tokens like normal and a thousand units to play. I waited, re-entered the arcade and re-loaded the server but no changes/corrections. I sadly lost tons of units before figuring it out

Steps to Reproduce I am assuming just play like normal

Please list how this bug can be reproduced, if possible. Pictures would be much appreciated!

What I expected to happen fix the machines would be great. a refund of units would be amazing but i can’t give you an exact amount so not sure

The normal behavior.

Other misc notes about the bug. Picture or videos would be much appreciated!

Token amounts are only visual, and the amount of units you spent on tokens are still stored in your inventory (just hidden) until you spend them. The main bug is just the esc menu unit counter not hiding the units you have stored as tokens, as well as the unit transaction display showing when you spend tokens.

I don’t think I explained the situation well. I am not a new player, been playing a few years now and am also a regular on the crane machine (for long sessions too). I am used to the little pop ups with -7,000 or whatever. It wasn’t that. For 4 plays in a row I watched 1k units be removed from my account in addition to the normal 50 tokens. I don’t know how long that was happening but had been on for at least 2 hours at that point. Thanks for your response = )

This is still happening as of 18.0.2.0

It is DEFINITELY subtracting more units than necessary. When you buy the tokens, you can see it subtract 250.

When you play pluck a pal, it subtracts 2500 units, refreshing does not give you the units back. There is no popup in the top right for a unit reduction. You can see at the bottom a loss of 2500 units, meaning that one pluck a pal run costs an actual total of 3000 units.

I think that the thing that usually pops up from the right-hand side of the screen when exchanging units for tokens is probably delayed, and having thousands of units deducted at once is likely a side effect of the system catching up and updating

I’d wager that unit balance and any changes in units are stored on a transactional database

In layman’s terms; if a series of queries to a transactional database fails or encounters an error for whatever reason, the transactions are automatically rolled back, banks and retailers operate transactional databases for this reason

Hopefully this helps explain what might be happening

The bug seems to only happen in the Arcade, not in the Boardwalk.
Each machine draws a precise amount of units unrelated to the amount of Tokens, so two different machines requiring for example 50 Tokens may draw different but persistent amounts of Units.
This makes me think it could be related to some kind of cost/reward balancing, though i think simply making Tokens cost 5 or 10 times more units at the moment of purchase would be prettier and more clear to users

The math makes no sense then. If i spend 500 units on 50 tokens, it should not be deducting 3000 permanently.

this is happening to me as well with other arcade games. I tried it here with prismatic

Tokens are just a number of units set aside for the purpose of the arcade. The machines only take units when the transaction occurs.

Then why don’t the numbers correlate? Why isn’t the price of the machine accurate?

I agree, I feel like how this system works should be made clearer
