Please, please do not make idea megathreads

Idea Mega threads makes it hard for developers to tell what people want from those threads and what they don’t.

For example: Ladies and gentlemen get ready to hold your pants for a giant suggestion wad

I agree with the Groups/Clan thing, but don’t with the floaty thing.
However, there is no way of telling this to the devs in a simple manner, because to have to go through tons of replies would be challenging, and you can’t vote for one line.

Moved to meta, since this pertains to the forums and not TU directly.

I posted in the sticky a couple hours ago:

thank you.

What about Item Suggestions Megathread? That one seems to be okay…?

I’d say that one’s a special case, since it is about suggesting very minor things to add as opposed to gameplay changes or other additions that would take more effort to implement. Lots of people have little items they’d like to add (as shown by the sheer number of posts on that particular megathread), and having everyone make their own topics for each minor item would really just cause clutter as opposed to being helpful in seeking out the most popular suggestions by vote count. Another thing is that it is about a bunch of very similar suggestions (that being every suggestion in it should be a condo/appearance item) being grouped together as opposed to being a bunch of unrelated suggestions, where someone might like half the ideas but despise the others. Having threads like that makes the vote system essentially useless (at least for those topics). That’s my two cents, anyways. Sorry for making a giant wall of text!

If you look at the sticky in suggestions, we do prefer one idea, one topic. If we have mega idea threads, we can’t read it all and we can’t get an accurate vote on what matters. If you have like 50 suggestions, we would prefer 50 topics.

The items suggestion thing is a unique thing, and it’s something we created. We have lots of item suggestions and that’s just better to keep in one thread so we don’t have to track hundreds of item topics.

This was exactly my point, and no one seems to get this.
