I know this has probably already been suggested a thousand times, however, that’s the reason i’m suggesting it again. I do not want to make a new account for the sole reason of changing my username, because i do not wanna lose all the posts and stuff I’ve made on this account. I have had a lot of bad memories with the username I have now, on other websites, mostly, and i do not want to continue using this username.
If you guys don’t wanna have people spamming people changing username, have a time limit before someone can change a username. I just don’t wanna continue using this username.
I tried to contact/DM Caboose for a username change like once or twice, but he never responded. I hope he will come back. My new username to replace the old one will be “PluckTheDragon”.
Shouldn’t this be a part of the website itself, instead of having to DM staff? The way things are set up currently aren’t particularly friendly for users of the site.
Discourse does support it afaik, but it’s a setting you have to change.
I’m not sure if it’s still the case, but apparently it could mess with tagging users. Which is weird to me, seems like it’d make more sense to do something like Discord where in the actual message itself it has something like <@137367769447530496> but when you display it on the website, RSS, or the raw text, it displays that as @Melonplex instread.
Ahh, I understand, thank you (and everyone else that responded again) - This makes sense, yeah. It’s good to see that we can now change our usernames directly from the forums.
