While I do think that it would provide an interesting take on gameplay, TU isn’t about roleplay. It just doesn’t really fit with the direction that the game is taking and might fit better somewhere else.
Nothing is stopping anyone from modding it in, though

I agree with cake magic. Doesn’t fit in. The fresh store will probably be pretty empty as is, another food store/restaurant would probably be a waste of time.
Doing jobs doesn’t fit in with what TU is going for. It’s all about havin fun. Some people find jobs and tasks fun, (heck, I love me some animal crossing) but it wouldn’t be the type of fun TU is going for.
