(Optional Setting) UnGIF Profile Banner GIFs

The profile banners that are always moving are very nice, but for some people (like me) it can be visually overwhelming to see so many moving things when trying to look at and process information.

The ability to toggle them to static images would be nice on days when my brain isn’t working.

Totally agree with this.
It should be part of ever-increasing Accessibility setting

Better suggestion: Remove all animated profile banners and turn them into static ones. Yeah, animations are nice, but what practical purpose do they serve besides being an severe distraction and an major annoyance? I feel like profile animations could have had been introduced without any animated variants into the game just fine. Profile banners are not the kind of place where you want things to move around - Not even Discord which is that one popular chat platform instead of being a game doesn’t understand this - I try to read someone’s profile sometimes and all I can see is some flames going all over it. Same mistake basically. It’s annoying.

Would be a good idea, also for players who may have fps issues as well. Might save on it a little. I dunno. :person_shrugging:

It might be a good idea to up the visibility for player names on the tab menu now. With profile banners it can be hard to quickly read through the list of names. Maybe a slightly transparent grey box behind just the player names’ text could make it more readable?

I personally really like all of the animated backgrounds, but definitely agree that options to disable the animation would be great for accessibility!
Great suggestion.

I like the animated backgrounds personally but a option to make profile backgrounds static is a nice idea, a win-win for everyone

Edit: I do agree that text can be difficult to read on some backgrounds; it could help to have outlines (for location text) and darker transparent box behind text for better readability

I think the standard color should stay behind the name, and then gradient/fade into the profile banner.
