[Old Megathread] "Achievement Is Broken" Report Thread (OLD)

The Island minigolf course threw me for a loop just now.

Island HIO #1 - Instead unlocked Pixel Crusader: Phase One.
Island HIO #2 - According to a friend that got it, unlocks absolutely nothing.
Island HIO #3 - Instead unlocked Island HIO #1. (which i did get earlier)
Island HIO #4 - Instead unlocked Island HIO #2. (which i did not get)
Island HIO #5 - According to a friend that got it, unlocks absolutely nothing.
Island Mastered - Instead unlocked Island HIO #4.

The same friend is reporting not getting Island Completed either, despite me getting it that game.

Total Efficiency will be earned in the collection book but does not give you the achievement on Steam and disappears from your collection book if you leave the game and join again.

EDIT: I just experienced the same issue when I earned Courts Adjourned but some people seem to actually have that one on Steam. So I’m not sure if it was working before they released the hot fix.

So after some hard work here is the list from a USERS point of view as far as I can tell. Been re-making a full list for a possible Guide update with all the new and fixed achievements. The Broken once’s I have all tested my self.

Friendship: Pluck 15 pals in Pluck-a-Pal. (Broken)
VIP (Very Important Pal): Pluck a rare pal in Pluck-a-Pal. (Broken)
Get Together: Watch Theater with 2 or more friends for more than 30 minutes. (Broken)
Our Feature Presentation: Watch Theater for more than 2 hours. (Broken)
Movie Night: Watch Theater with 4 or more friends for more than 10 minutes. (Broken)
It’s a Party!: Play in Plaza with 4 or more friends at once for more than 15 minutes. (Broken)
Big Bucks: Put over 10,000 units in poker. (Broken)
Home Visitor: Visit 20 other condos. (Broken-Tracking issues)
Condo Explorer: Visit 50 other condos. (Broken-Tracking issues)

Island HIO #1 - Get hole in one on Island - Hole 4. (Broken)

P.S. Working on regular for island to see if it will work or not.

Home Visitor and Condo Explorer
These achievements don’t count properly due to what I believe is because it usually takes a long time to load into a multiplayer condo. The best way me and a friend were able to unlock these was to have one of us host a completely empty condo on the Smooth Dirt map while the other kept rejoining. Also installing the game on an SSD to improve load times to the condo may help as well.

TV Addicition
Not sure if this was changed in a recent update but tracking is only made when the player isn’t marked as afk (standing still for ~60 seconds).

Can’t get the achievement “Tower Addiction”, it doesn’t work on Steam too.

I think Total Efficiency is still broken. I just did it again after the latest patch, and it still didn’t pop up for me.

I’m a bit picky, but virus achievements about surviving rounds are broken.

When you come close to the 23/25 or 8/10 counter, the next time you survive will grant the achievements.
The achievements still progresses, even when you were the last survivor alive and get infected.

0.9.0.2 achievement bugs in the Arcade:

[Bug Bytes] This Is the Thanks I Get For Working Overtime (Does this count one or both players’ destroyed bug count?)

[Lonely Gun 30XX] Total Efficiency (Video Proof)

[Skeeball] Midway Mania (Goal is 1500 points, yet I’ve scored 15000+)

[Whack-A-Mole] Cat Protector (Gotten 50 points with bonus and no cats hit)

This is a bug with the description of the achievement. I am resolving it now. The real score required is 30,000.

This only counts for yourself, so if you hit 30 bugs you’ll get it but your coop buddy won’t. I’ll update the description to be a little more clear.

It’s a Party - Play in Plaza with 4 or more friends at once for more than 15 minutes.

Me and a group of friends have actually figured out how the game checks for this achievements critera. We will be testing for the theater ones using similar methods next.

The person going for the achievement will need the 4 friends they are doing it with added on Steam.
The person going for the achievement will need to be the first person to join the server before the 4 friends.
The 15 minute timer for the achievement will then start for the person who joined the server first.
You all don’t need to be in a plaza group.
People can go afk but not the person getting the achievement. If the person going for the achievement gets marked afk then the 15 minute timer will pause for them.

It seems the game only counts friends for the “4 or more friends” requirement when they join the server after you. If you join a friends server they’ll not count towards your “4 or more friends” requirement but you will count for them.

With the ‘Delicious!’ achievement each time you land the ball in the bird basket it counts it as 2 times.

All ballrace achievements about collecting melons only counts when you’re eating the single pieces. Full pieces (5) does not count towards the progress.

Either this has been fixed in 0.9.0.3 or the bug can only under specific circumstances.

It took me 5 throws into the kitty/basket for me to get the relevant achievement. I’ve never gotten more tickets than expected for the 2+ kitty throw bonus.
