There has been an abuse on the vote kick feature, especially people that “are winning in the game” on stuff like Minigolf.
One of my suggestions to stop this for randoms joining the server and blindly pressing “Yes” on the vote kick menu because it said so, it’s to put up a big obligatory message that contains the reason of why you’re kicking, it needs to have more than X characters, perhaps 5 or 10 chars, with 3 it can just be “asd” or a space if it has none, making it obsolete and weak.
Either write it down or have a list of options of possible reasons on why do you want to vote kick, and the options could be related to be toxic, micspam, afk, racist or anything like it.
But it needs something to stop a quick and easy votekick, since this can be really really exploitable.
Also reporting someone for abusing the vote kick must be an offense for the moderators/admins

The problem isn’t going to go away with adding a reason for the vote kick. People will just pick whatever reason to get you out - that’s not going to change anything. This is of course given your scenario of people abusing vote kick.
User hosted servers aren’t moderated by us, so we’re not going to step in and ban someone for abusing the vote kick system.
The vote kick requires 2/3 majority to approve, and if sadly those people don’t want to play with you, that was up to them. Find a new server or host your own.
There is a cooldown on vote kicks already, you can’t just keep requesting a vote kick if they fail, so if you have someone doing that, you can counter vote kick them.
While I do agree that the current votekick system is fair and does more good than harm to the game, I think the option to specify a reason would still be beneficial. In the scenario that you are kicking a troll or micspammer, it might help convince others to vote yes. In the scenario where it is being abused, it might help some people reconsider their vote.
In any case, I can’t really see any drawbacks to this suggestion
Yeah adding a reason is only good for people playing the server who aren’t the host’s friends as the host can just give any reason and let their friends do the rest.
Obviously if the server is crowded with friends of the host, it won’t work, but this is more for random people that joined the server, clueless of what happened.
If they are abusing the system already, they’ll continue to. But I still argue that sometimes people don’t really want to play with a player who is much better at the game than them. If the majority wants that, then that’s what the system allows.
Well yeah, but I don’t think anybody expects this to be implemented immediately. I just think it’s worth considering because it’ll only serve to refine the votekick system further.
Isn’t the vote kick system already done? With the system already established I wouldn’t think it needs a total overhaul, just a bit more on the already constructed vote kick system.
And I’m not asking this to be immediate, this can take the time that it takes, it would be great if we can get it the earliest possible, but I don’t ask it to be right now because I know you guys aren’t robots.
Yeah, it can be pretty hard to implement one feature as bugs can occur when trying to implement something, as well as playtesting to make sure the thing actually works.
The main thing they want to focus on now is lobby 3 and achievements, leaderboards, and milestones. However, this could be something we see down the line.
Maybe you could add before hosting the server two options: Votekick and Admin/Host kick (the first one works like you told us and the second one is a non-voted kick made by the Host.
