Not a bug, just an observation on Beta

I’ve noticed the dedi servers act a little differently than normal hosting when it comes to media players. This overall seems good, I don’t know. I’m just pointing this out.

Info: I run a VPN. It’s a pain in the ass because my IP choices are either:

A: imgur’s site will let access, but I can’t watch YT outside of their site because the VPN IP trips their bot protection and YouTube videos just display the “Sign in to show you’re not a bot” message.
or
B: YT videos work everywhere, but imgur’s site is blocked.

Seeing as I work on condos a lot, and never watch YT videos in Tower, I’m usually on option A as I need access to my imgur galleries. Here’s where it gets weird.

If I’m in mode A, the situation changes between self and dedi hosting:

Self Host: I can’t watch YT videos in my condo, obviously, but other people can still, as they’re not on a VPN IP.

Dedi Host: I can’t watch YT videos in the condo, and neither can anyone else.

In conclusion. It looks like Dedis are handling video feeds differently, where as in normal condos it’s a direct client to YouTube link, dedis are more of the client gets routed through the dedi’s system and then to YT via its IP instead. I don’t know if you purposely changed it (seeing as the other media screen bug isn’t present on dedis, this might have been your fix for that happening).

Again, just a note of something I noticved, nothing’s really wrong with it.
