The best part is, there’s a birthday feature but there’s no option to enter your birthday in your profile
There is. Check your profile settings.

Well that’s a perfectly logic placement, could’ve just put that along with the name/email stuff instead of placing it with the desktop notifications 
I installed the plugin. I don’t know if anyone will use it.
I decided to give it a try, but not sure what use it really has.
