More Connectivity

I have been a regular in this game for almost 10 years now - witnessing it’s amazing beginnings as Gmod Tower, to the fantastic updates and content the dev team continues to put out today.

I want to start off this suggestion by thanking all of them for their continued support in making Tower Unite an excellent online gaming experience.

While playing the game, I’ve noticed that I really enjoy going to the casino or bowling, hopping over to the nightclub to have some drinks, then running over the arcade to play games or hop in trivia. Similarily, going from shop to shop has been an excellent experience to me in the plaza, however, I feel like there’s a way it could be improved even more.

This will sound silly, but the stimulation of going across all these different locations in the plaza is what has me coming back, but I feel like my focus is slightly broken every time I have to run outside to go to a different place. The feeling of going from the nightclub to the casino drunk and hearing all those sounds, along with the lights and colors is amazing.

Now, this isn’t to say I have anything against Lobby 3 (I actually think it’s amazing), but I feel like there can be more “connectivity” between everything to keep players stimulated - kind of like how we’re able to hop between the casino and night club.

I remember when the developers added the monorail, the ability to join minigames with the portals, and I believe reduced the size of the plaza to keep more players closer together - giving the plaza more “sense of life”. I feel like there can be more done to do that. And I apologize if this suggestion doesn’t list out some good ideas, but I felt the need to write this after playing recently and thoroughly enjoying it.

I remember in the Gmod Tower days (Lobby 1) when you could take the elevator to the games area and there were always players queuing up for Minigolf, Ball Race, etc. then you could take it back down and you’d see people running around the fountain/main area doing all sorts of stuff. To be fair, I believe there were only 2 servers at the time and the map was pretty small - but the main idea of what I’m suggesting is for there to be more ways to consistently interact with different aspects of the game, because, in my head, it will add a stronger sense of “life”.

I disagree. Also almost 10 years if not slightly more. Connectivity is great and all, but I do like the fact that some stuff is separated out. Bringing stuff too close will honestly make it just… Way too cramped. No thanks, seriously. I want the Plaza to be an island, with some stuff/places like water slides and minigame area being separated out. Same with the Poseidon rollercoaster and more. I get why you would want something different, but just give it a thought from another perspective - Sure, gameplay is the most important thing, but environment and immersing yourself into the game is too - And something like this would personally really work against it. I really just enjoy walking around the Plaza’s more distant areas sometimes. It’s a nice way to stay away from chaos when you get tired out or are a more lone wolf type of person.

I understand what you’re saying, and I think there’s currently a good amount of room for both. I wonder if my opinion would change if I logged in at a more popular time.

I do agree with you too, so thanks for your response. Maybe it would have had, yeah, though obviously I couldn’t know that, not being you. Even if you are playing with randoms, when there’s more people, it can be a good time. I sometimes play when servers are near empty and sometimes when there’s a lot of people, so that defines a lot of the experience, regardless of whether or not you have a family members or friend/friends to play with

For sure - I used to play with a lot of my friends, but honestly, playing with random people has been great recently. Adds to the fun of it.

To be fair, playing with random people is a big gamble too. I still prefer playing with people who are close, but every now and then, I don’t mind joining a random activity or someone joining me. But yeah, as that’s no longer as much related to the topic, I do still thank you for this small exchange of words. At least I got to hear out another perspective on the current Plaza map and share my own. It is nice to do that sometimes - Just discuss, talk, what someone believes could be better versus what someone else feels like, do it respectfully and come to a conclusion that maybe it’s just perception being different by a different approach to the game and playing with different people, as well as more or less of them

Likewise! I really enjoy engaging with these forums because of the great discussions people can have like the one we did. Hope to see you in game soon!
