Try to make something a non-purple-y pink or even just plain stark white for that matter.
Be completely unable to on most things.
Creating pink, pure white, or any desaturated/bright colors on most things is nigh impossible. PLEASE give us saturation sliders, and preferably brightness ones too.
Heck, most of the time I can’t even get my 3d text to just be plain white!
These sliders would go such a long way for condo building and even just accessories.
I think your condos just have dim lighting, because I can make things these colors just fine. Lighting can make things appear like they’re a different color because it does tint them the color of the light. Would be nice though!
I presume you’re referring to a lot of items and materials that have slight color tints on them. If you really have an issue with it, maybe try using a canvas decal of a 1x1 pixel image on top of the object? that way you can color it the way you want. It would be a solid color, and you’d have to deal with decal bleed, but it is an option.
Well I mean I’m referring to in every lighting I’ve had, ie in even the pre-built condos, I’ve struggled to make anything a rich color or a bright pink.
Then for accessories for example, if I can make a brown piece of toast tint green then it should stand to reason that I should have a way to color my catsack backpack pink right? And yet I can’t? I’m saying this applies to just about every accessory that I’ve tried coloring. I can get maybe the faint desaturated pink or a very purple looking pink but just, like, even a Magenta is so hard to come by for most condo items and player accessories I’ve tried!
That wouldn’t do anything for accessories tho. As for items, in my experience canvas decals don’t pin onto just the object you put them on unless I’m simply doing something wrong. The times I’ve tried to use canvas decals for coloring things, the canvas image has just spread onto the wall next to it. For example, how would I color one of the honeycomb shelves with a decal without it spreading to the wall behind it? My floor was locked but trying to decal a couch still spread the image to the floor
Is the honeycomb shelf not colorable? If you find weird stuff like that, report it, it usually gets fixed kinda quick.
Is this not white enough for you?
I have definitely noticed this on certain accessories. The way color is applied to different materials can result in remarkable differences in the end result in terms of brightness and saturation.
These are all the same color. In my opinion the intended color shows up best on the Beret and Cat Beanie whereas the others are much darker than they should be. Horns is coloring weirdly and has a red tint no matter which color, which might just be a bug now that I think of it. But this general issue is pretty widespread across different materials/items so I definitely understand where OP is coming from.
For condo building, you can place down a Post Processing Volume, set it to be global and crank up the saturation and brightness across the entire condo. Or you can do it selectively in certain rooms.
For 3D text, there’s different material types, there’s one that’s just default normal and will give you plain white or plain colors.
For individual items, I have thought of a setting that removes the color/saturation on the existing item, but it’s a lot of work. Every item would have to be individually adjusted as they have unique textures.
Is there a way to lock a canvas decal in a way so that it ONLY applies to the object you put it on? I’d be fine just using canvas decals to a degree, but my issue is that the decal doesn’t seem to stick just to the item it’s placed on, in my experience? I’ll try again soon and see if I can show what I mean
You can. On a color wheel, the closer it is to the center of the wheel, the lower the saturation. There is also a slider on the side of it to change the brightness.
