Is your moderation team ever going to take care of the well-known, community trolls and baiters on Steam forums?

This is a fairly well-known issue in the community, but I think it’s for the best to bring it up again. Several people are continuing to beat your guys reputation down and getting full support for it, but nothing is ever done about it. They are pretty active and continue doing things, all to bring down your reputation - This is in addition to several other people writing very negative reviews for the game, while the people mentioned previously are throwing out empty accusations of poor time and resource management and not delivering on early crowdfunding campaign promises, amongst many other things towards your development team and members of our community in Steam forum threads. Are you really willing to let it go unpunished, just like that? I’m not going to be dropping any names, as I try to not be that kind of person, but there is plenty of harassment, toxicity and negativity bias in your community outside of your own forums here, aimed towards your development team and our community at large, that usually that tries to be supportive of what you do - Any and all positivity and trolling are disregarded as trolling, baiting or blatant lies from those kinds of people. Those things need to be addressed as no one is enjoying those people being in our community, and I’m sure they aren’t helping you guys be more motivated to work on Tower Unite. All this is happening in public, over at Steam community forums for Tower Unite where everyone can see it, and your development team is well aware of this. Please address your community’s concerns and get those guys banned from there permanently - They are a problem to everyone and have been for a long time.

What would they be banned for? Expressing opinions? At that point any excessive complaining would be a bannable offense, as the devs could just regard any criticism as “trolling” and ban people willy nilly.

Steam forums is a different forum software with different moderation rules.

Valve recommends that we don’t ban users for speaking about game-related issues or frustrations. I also don’t think banning someone for having frustrations with the game is a good choice. I often reply when I’m able to to address concerns from those players.

Users who harass other users, or name call, or flat out cause discourse after being addressed do get their comments removed or banned by Steam moderators. If you see a post like that, or even a post you think is harassment, please flag the post and a Steam moderator (or us) will take action.

Typically Steam moderators do not issue out perma bans and rely on 1 or 2 day bans.

Another thing to consider is when Valve or a developer bans a user from the Steam forums, they also can no longer post any content to Steam workshop or screenshots. It’s all tied to that single ban. So, we also reserve perma bans to only those who absolutely need to.

I understand, however, there is far more than just frustrations with the game. These actions extend to harassing members of your development team in comments on those threads, alongside harassing community members trying to defend you or enjoy the game. The guy I’m talking about has been apparently banned in the past but only temporarily, precisely because they were already reported by others. However, you know, repeated offenses? I’m also trying to help out by reporting them over at Steam every now and then, but the problem is definitely there. I do thank you however for at least addressing the question and responding - I appreciate it and I hope something is done when more people report that guy.

The point is, which I have already written about, that a few of those particular people are taking to harassment of the development team, based off of those frustrations - They are literally harassing development team, or at the very least, accusing them of wrongly managing the game and resources, all while harassing people trying to be friendly and supportive of PixelTail Games. I really do recommend you re-read my post.

Could you DM me the user you are referring to?

Sure. But I would have to DM their Steam profile as they don’t have an forum account. Would this work?

Yes, that’s fine.
