You can have IO Remote without buying it.
It doesn’t work by default
If you place “IO Remote Volume” in condo, and walk inside it, IO Remote will start working and using input/output from Volume.
Its basically a button, that you can hold everywhere, and it activates input from inside of special volume for it.
That will help to make easier pressing buttons at custom minigames where you should move and then pressing button for event.
For example the “Great Goose Game” from @GateTheCat
You have to shoot at balloon for activating random event, and then move.
IO Remote will make it easier, so you will have to just click one button in IO Remote, and then you will get number of steps on it’s screen.
