As of right now, only a few maps on Ball Race have been verified, and none of the Zombie Massacre maps have been verified. I think due to the high volume of maps being published across Minigolf, Ball Race, and Zombie Massacre, there should be some sort of trust system.
A couple of options to possibly consider:
To have payouts/leaderboards enabled by default, and if it is abused, certain maps can get disabled and/or the creator can get banned from having payouts enabled on their maps.
Once one map gets verified for a creator, any new maps that same creator publishes can automatically have payouts/leaderboards enabled.
This wouldn’t prevent people from grinding out maps for units before payouts are taken away though. Personally, I think maps shouldn’t have them enabled by default if approved previously (although, maybe certain trusted creators could earn this right if they’ve published multiple maps that don’t abuse the system).
I think a better system would be allowing certain players to vote a yes or no for if a map should be approved or not so the devs can rely on the players, saving the time that the devs would have to take to verify if a map should be unit approved or not. However, I don’t know how players would gain access to that ability to vote on the approval of a map. I don’t think all players should have access to voting for unit approval, since the majority of players would likely vote incorrectly for a map that may not deserve an approval, therefore making the data the devs receive pointless.
This is just because they’re being approved manually. I run through them daily, but I got a bit more busy than I realized this week, sorry.
I just approved more Ball Race maps today. I have to manually setup the leaderboards for each Ball Race map (I use a script though, but it still has to be done with some manual inputs).
I haven’t gone through Zombie Massacre yet because of some glaring bugs that just got resolved by the previous hot fix. I’ll be going through those tonight.
I don’t think we can do a trust system yet, as I feel that people could still use it to abuse (and do it secretly with unlisted maps). It’s early days of course, and we will most likely need to revisit the approval process.
