WELL, THIS IS THE REMAKE OF THE ELEVATOR SOURCE IN UE4. ENJOY:
PS: I’ll keep updating this post when I have more content.
I think it’s really really cool that they look almost identical, old and new.
It shows how the devs were REALLY streching the source engine and making it put out really beautiful scenes that next gen engines are capable of doing, and it also shows that remaking Elevator would still hold the old charm that it did in Source.
If we did remake Elevator: Source, would it just be Elevator? I’m all for it. No UI or anything, Just boot up the game and it puts you in someone’s server, and the game just starts. No opening or anything. With UE4 you’d also have VR peripheral support, and with absolutely minimal UI, it wouldn’t be that hard to implement, all you’d need is a pause button that lets you quit. I’d be all for Elevator in VR. Especially some of the floors that take advantage of the tight space of your car, or remove the walls and ceiling. The creature floor would be really fun too…
If literally anything can be put into Tower Unite’s Workshop, we might actually see literally every single map once available in Garry’s Mod and other Source games ported over… That means DarkRP maps, Bhop maps, TTT maps, Freebuild maps, Surf maps, Climb maps, Football maps, Minigames maps, Jailbreak maps, so on and so forth. If people can make items and change gameplay mechanics using the Workshop as well, there might be a chance that many people will take the opportunity to shift from Source to UE4 using Tower Unite as the base game. Imagine people recreating all of the classic gamemodes and custom gamemodes of previous Source games in Unreal Engine 4…
This may be a little too crazy, but it seems possible. It seriously does!
This would seriously boost the number of people playing the game at any given time…
