Excuse me if this is in the wrong location, I couldn’t find any other topic that’d involve asking for help, besides the point.
I’ve followed every little bit of the guide that was posted in the questions thread and I’ve asked atleast two people for help. Not saying their help didn’t work, but they got me to where I am now atleast.
Besides the point, lately I’ve been trying to set up a dedicated Tower Unite server for the past 2 or 3 hours now, and I’ve come across one problem that I’m hopefully not being a idiot of. My server seems to boot up without any errors and connects to all the port forwarded ports, how ever… I don’t see my server in the list at all.
My server’s name is “Moonie’s Test Server” with no password (Cause I know these don’t work). I’ll be keeping it running on the server tower while I wait for some posts on here. Keep in mind that I’m setting a server up on a completely separate computer tower, calling it a server tower. Then connecting with my main PC. The server is running Linux (not a linux fan, so I’m pretty new to Linux, but I’ve had some help).

i loaded up on a Local machine, portforwarded, didnt show on the list. ( then got fed up lol)
did it on a VPS and it shows up.
Best guess as your machines local and maybe you missed a port out?
(Edit)
Not sure if i can add this here, if not then let me know.
1p Special offer Cloud Hosting for a temp server for a Month if you need it.
As much as I wouldn’t mind having it hosted by someone else, I do want this to be a learning experience for me. I am highly sure I haven’t missed a port out, I’ve double checked every port just to make sure.
Fair enough then.
the only reason i know it wouldnt show is due to ports.
27015 7777 7778
Good Luck
I’ll say that port 27015 doesn’t work, 7777 and 7778 works.
Iunno why 27015 doesn’t work, but 27016 works.
Have your Change your port in the Server config files?
Tower Unite Dedicated Server\Tower\Config
Edit DefaultEngine.ini and Crtl+F to open find. then type 27015. and you will see
“GameServerQueryPort=27015” Change it to your Desired port (27016)
Save and exit.
Then retry
Sadly, that made no difference, but does it matter if I don’t have steam installed? Cause it’s really tedious to install steam in the first place.
As you download the nessary files for the server you also download the steam files so that should be fine.
Im sorry i cant suggest anything else but not hosting it localy.
Hope you get it fixed
[Edit]
Thats a lie.
i have 1 more thing to add, if your Router has a DMZ mode, put the Server in that Aswell as Portforward.
DMZ basicly Opens up ALL ports to the Server pc.
Welp, I’m a complete idiot.
I was port forwarding to the wrong device. I just vented for atleast half an hour about this.
Thanks for your help anyways though, lol.
Well then. xDDDDD
Atleast you got it working.
Well… I seem to still be having issues, everything connects, I see 0 server activity and it doesn’t show up on the server list.
