I would really appreciate if we could have friends/DMs in TU without needing to friend/DM on Steam.
Being able to check a player’s Steam profile will always be a valuable tool but many players might not wish to add someone as a “general” friend when their only connection is though TU.
At the very least, I feel as if this would help people that are introverted in regards to being social in the game.
This seems a bit unnecessary in my opinion. Especially given how tied TU is to Steam already.
This doesn’t make sense to me, maybe I’m not understanding the idea correctly. You are still friending someone. It seems to make virtually no difference except result in more development time.
Yeah, I also fail to see the difference. If you’re that introverted, then just don’t friend people. What difference does it make if you’re friends in the game or outside the game? You’re still friends either way.
the closest we’ll likely get to this is just the party system, i think it’ll have private chat between the party? & i believe you can party invite people not on your steam friends list, too
i could be wrong about some of that, but a party system is coming eventually™
The party system isn’t what you think it is. The party system is going to allow you to host actual parties in your condo, like we could back in Gmod Tower. You’re thinking of Player Groups, which we actually already have. If you join a Group with someone, there’s a Group channel where you can chat with just the people in your Group.
Party is also a synonym for group, probably what she meant. The current group implementation is very bare-bones and not really worth using, since they don’t save outside of the plaza as far as I know.
Barebones, yes. But they do at least exist and do still facilitate private chat between just the members of the group, which is what loley was referring to.
Groups were added to the game quite awhile ago actually and they function exactly as you said. You can group up with people and talk with only the members of your group.
The idea is very simple: have in-game friends that are separate from Steam’s platform
The difference is just as simple: in-game communication is exclusive to TU.
The benefit is even simpler: it makes it easier to make temporary friendships and/or collaborate for short periods of time.
I just don’t wanna see xX_BimboFortnite420_Xx playing wallpaper engine every 5 seconds just because I want to see when they are online on TU so I can join their condo.
