Newgrounds & many other flash game websites have created their own unique player that can read and play flash games.
Looking back on flash games, this was a golden age, I see alot of potential here but such an endeavor would come with some major setbacks, I can only speculate!
Potentially through Arcade API or Libretro, could we see such a feature make its way in? What would be the potential setbacks and challenges faced, would it even be possible?

This is both problematic and unfeasible at once - I researched this topic once and LibRetro and whatever they are using currently doesn’t offer Flash player emulation or any components required for that. Even besides that though, having this would be simply pointless and you mentioned why yourself with the LibRetro emulation and 2D Arcade API. Even besides that though, Flash games were usually fairly low quality and not that many of them were super entertaining or interesting enough to play for a longer time, although obviously there were also quite a few exceptions to that rule like Lucky Tower or Henry Stickmin series of games (I know there is more but I can’t really be bothered to list those games at the moment) - Still, the point stands: There is no point in bringing those over to Tower Unite. It wouldn’t be worth the development time and effort.
I can only disagree one thing that is Flash stuff being low quality 'cause we can say the same for people picking Youtube videos that can be just as poor.
It would be nice to link to website such as Newgrounds. There’s tons of games I like from that site. Escape games by Psionic3D ruled over my childhood. So I’d like to share that.
But I agree the issue Flash with is not finish. Following Ruffle for example. Is not complete.
Not to mention my suggestion url link to said flash can be… troublesome. Even if it’s condo only.
I’m sure in due time were there is a standard by the community. We can see Flash appear. So I don’t see anything wrong from GhostaTheHidden.
I mean, emulators in TU is kinda funky too. lol
I think your explanation serves the whole idea/suggestion more justice than mine and now that you wrote everything out the way you did, I do agree with you and the original suggestion better. I think I’m going to give the thing my vote back, since it’s deserved - Maybe one day we will be able to go ahead and do that Flash emulation thing in Tower, but until then, it’s more likely that the game is either going to die out as time goes on or we reach the final 1.0 release.
Just to pick this discussion back up 20 days later. There is so many more flash games out there except Henry Stickmin series & Newgrounds classics.
Fancy Pants, Sift Heads, Grow series, LineRider, Bush Shoot-Out, Territory Wars, Learn to Fly, Potty Racers, Miami & Sydney Shark.
Can’t forget Bloons TD came from flash glory days. There is so much reason to implement flash support.
Yeah. These were just some basic *examples. Plus, we could bring back some of the games Gmod Tower used for their own, old Arcade machines too, since those used Flash
