(this is the suggestion that will get me in trouble, I just know it is!)
Just say that there, for some reason, more emotes come to the game. Imagine just instead of getting all of them for free, you have to retrieve purchase them from a shop or a place in the plaza using units. Which should require a place in the plaza and for one of them I call it the Dojo of Dance! (working title)
and I would imagine a path off the beach near the slides or near the behind of the bowling alley, and it’s a wide road made of oriental stone going into the ocean into the dojo, feeling kinda like how entering the lighthouse when it was new. (location opposite of the lighthouse technically)
Imagine emotes that you can ONLY get during events! Like anniversary Halloween or winter!
Imagine emotes that are two player interactive, like the ones on other games like TF2 or Helldivers 2! Or ones that allow you to move like kaotsky kick inTF2!
You spend units for these awesome and new emotes! Which branches off to another thing
Workshop Emotes [Pre-approved!]
Just like TF2 cosmetics, the devs have to approve custom workshop emotes to be used in the game. No naughty naughty stuff now, updates to emotes have to be approved too! I imagine a custom SDK in game that allows you to animate and manipulate the bone positions for animating for the rig in game instead of doing it a hackey style with an animation tool like blender or something.
Okay this doesn’t HAVE to be a thing but for the publishers of the emotes, they get a cut of everyone’s units who purchases their custom emote!
I imagine this idea will come to fruition out around the time the “workshop cosmetics” will be a thing which I kinda think should work the same way like how the dojo works, not just getting them for free and possibly a unit cut like the LAST spoiler blur
