Fatal crash on startup

When opening tower unite, an error message displays as follows: “Tower unite has encountered a fatal error which it could not recover from”.
The game does not open on direct X 10 or 11 and does not appear to be generating a crash report. The game has worked fine on my computer for about 100 hours but has stopped as of an update in the last few months.

Card name: Radeon RX 570 Series
