In short, I’m wondering if you guys are willing to update the main menu’s Appearance screen to have the default player model to the side, suggesting players to work on them as a fallback?
The long story,
I’m the type of player who do disable workshop player models for either balancing reasons in Game Worlds or outright annoying in plaza.
(And yes I do use block model for the most part first.)
Point is, it always result revealing many players don’t actually customize their non-workshop avatars. I thought it is how it is but sometimes I bump into players who DO care for their default. ( I double check if they’re wearing workshop and they are.)
And with VRChat players uploading their Vtubers/OCs.
I’m more then encourage to keep workshop player models disabled.
This would also help for other players who don’t like certain things whatever it’s furry, anime, or even memes. while keeping it pleasing when fallback is applied. Aka the default player models.
This an idea from VRChat’s old avatar screen. They showed the fallback model (this case the robot) so players will know who they’re going to be for other players whatever reason their main avatar (this case the owl) is not available for players to see or blocked due to reasons.
In TU’s case. having the default being on the side may help encourage players to care for possible scenarios if their workshop model is block or disabled for other players.
I don’t know if Appearance menu function is any different in-game.
But for something so small I think main menu’s appearance screen will be more useful for something like this.
I think this would be a nice feature to have when there’s more default playermodels in the game.
(which as far as I recall, is planned at some point).
Perhaps when workshop 2.0 comes around we could see a feature like this.

I hope so. Defaults are under appreciated.
It doesn’t get enough love really.
I just wish more people care for their default appearance. Even using the milk carton or skeleton model is more then enough if not bothering to modify.

Another idea to add to your suggestion. I know I seen some other separate suggestion topics about this, but I feel like this would fit with your main idea pretty well too - Add separate sets per each player model (including the default ones) that you can equip. I find it pretty annoying to have to change my equippable accessories, clothes and stuff every time I use any different model and I think I’m not alone in that. I just like to be unique for each model I use - I think it should also be pretty obvious how it fits into your main idea but in case if not, here’s the explanation: If your custom model is unavailable or blocked but you don’t want to be always decorated and spend time unequipping or changing things manually you could just click a button to automatically equip a set of accessories and clothes for the other model or have that be done automatically per player model that’s detected and if you have saved a set of clothes/accessories. Thoughts?
I think it fits better on that said post. I get what you mean but the point of Fallback Player Model is you would be unaware of your current model being block, only the blocker sees your Fallback Model in place of your current one.
But I can see that you would prefer your Fallback having different stuff when it happens. Least that’s what I’m getting at.
